    • Impressive how both 'Greatest Showman' and 'A Star Is Born' managed to chart in the year-end top 10 for 2 consecutive years. Those were two massive soundtracks without a doubt!

            • Swiss Singles Charts

              58 (37) 65 Shallow
Out (80) 63 Always Remember Us This Way

TONS of Christmas songs are on the charts this week, so "Shallow" will definitely climb back up next week (and maybe ARUTW re-enters).

                #2 A Star Is Born

Surprised it's not #1 to be honest, but still a fantastic position. As for the singles, only positions #50 - #29 are revealed so far and no appearance for Lady Gaga so far.

TF/M was #2 on the YEC 2009 and #1 on the YEC 2010, BTW was #10 on the YEC 2011. I think that are all of her Top10 spots on the Swiss Albums YEC so far.

                  • ^ Fantastic position for ARUTW! Very pleased - even though I was low-key hoping for a Top10 spot.

The #21 on the Swiss YEC is in the database with a 2x Platinum certification, so ARUTW is eligible for 2x Platinum or even more!

Señorita is #4, so it's between Shallow, Someone You Loved and Old Town Road.

                                      Swiss Year-End Charts 2019

                                      #1 Shallow
#12 Always Remember Us This Way

                                      #2 A Star Is Born

The #3/#4 albums were certified with Platinum a while ago, so ASIB is eligible for at least Platinum. The #21 song is certified with 2x Platinum, which means ARUTW is eligible for 2x Platinum or more. Meanwhile, "Dance Monkey" at #5 was already certified with 3x Platinum, so "Shallow" may be 4x Platinum or even more!

2019 is only the third year when Lady Gaga reached the Top10 of the Swiss Singles-YEC following 2009 ("Poker Face" at #1) and 2010 ("Alejandro" at #8).
                                      It's the fourth year when she reached the Top10 of the Swiss Albums-YEC following 2009 (TF/M at #2), 2010 (TF/M at #1) and 2011 (BTW at #10).

Did you forget that this is the second year in a row that Shallow appears on the UK Year-End list?

Also, only 2 songs that entered the Top 100 last year were successful enough to enter the Top 20 this year: Shallow and Shotgun by George Ezra. Still in doubt about Shallow's unbeatable success in the UK?

                                              • Some remarkable achievements...

Lady Gaga becomes the 2nd female artist to have the biggest song of the year in Switzerland twice, after Shakira.

Shallow becomes the first movie song by a female artist to top the Swiss Year-End Chart since Céline Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On', in 1998.

This is only the 11th time that a song by a female artist has become the biggest song of the year in Switzerland since the chart began in 1968.
