Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper :: The "A Star Is Born" OST Era
“So after three weeks at the top the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper duet "Shallow" is down one spot to No.2 (and still not certified) and No.1 on the digital sales chart.
The cinema rules the top of the ARIA Albums Chart again this week, with firstly the soundtrack to the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper film 'A Star is Born' holding for a fourth week here, plus the album is now Gold (?) in sales too.
"A Star is Born" and its fourth week at the top becomes the second longest run at No.1 for a soundtrack this year, half of the eight weeks notched up by 'The Greatest Showman' set in January and February of this year, while this stay at the top increases Lady Gaga's tally on the list for 'Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Albums (1965 to 2018)' from equal 83rd to now equal 78th alongside Avril Lavigne (9 weeks at No.1 from 3 #1 albums also), while for this decade list (2010's) she is now equal seventh alongside One Direction who racked up nine weeks at the top with their four chart-topping albums”.
Re: Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper :: The "A Star Is Born" OST Era
I can't believe Billboard (of all magazines) is trying to shade the movie by saying it's not wowing audiences overseas. As far as i know, it's doing great everywhere. The only country it flopped is Turkey.
It's down to No. 7 on the sales-based chart, but the top 5 consists of new releases and No. 6 is the Queen Best Of (pushed by the movie). Since the No. 1 album is the new release by a big German act and Gaga/Cooper have sold 30.5% of it, I have it at another 15k copies, making it eligible for gold. Its sales have been very stable so far week after week.
My estimations (=/= real sales) for the album are:
5 - 29k
5 - 17k
9 - 16k
7 - 14k
10 - 15k
13- 15k
(total: ~ 106K)
During the last few weeks, it has been placed lower on the gross-based than on the sales-based list because of new releases sold for a higher price (e.g. deluxe editions, re-releases, live CD/DVDs).

Do you have estimations for Joanne and ARTPOP there? And how much did ASIB sell so far?

Artpop: 45,000 (pure sales)
Joanne: 33,000 (pure sales)
A Star Is Born: 44,200 (SPS) / 37,080 (pure sales) (as of last week)
That's amazing! A 7th week is already quite safe, so it will be interesting to see if it can tie "Poker Face" (8 weeks) or even become her longest running #1 in Switzerland ever
