Re: Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper :: The "A Star Is Born" OST Era
Amazing first day so far!
Considering the songs are doing so well on iTunes, i think they may surprise us with the SPS numbers. Let's see if they also have some Spotify support... Twenty One Pilot may have ticket bundles, but none of their songs really takes off, even after the album release. Could be an interesting chart battle after all

A week hence, Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper’s soundtrack to A Star Is Born will be looking to debut atop the album chart. Meanwhile, Shallow - the first single from the set – is the highest of eight Top 75 debuts. Opening at No.13 (20,425 sales), it is actor Cooper’s first hit but Lady Gaga’s 23rd.

Shallow is predicted to have sold around 60-65k this week at #1.
Even if they have 6 or 7 songs charting on Hot Digital next week, all tracks from the album combined would sell around, what, 150k copies? That would only be 15k units more for the album.
It’s SEA what matters more.
Although if there’s going to be a tight race, every little helps, of course.

Amazing that Shallow has climbed to #1 in Germany!

Wait a minute, you say: We just called the ball on this week's chart and you're already... oh, fine. Anyway, we could be looking at a four-way battle for #1 on the next Top 50, with Interscope's A Star Is Born, Fueled by Ramen/Atlantic's twenty one pilots, Quality Control/Motown/Capitol's Lil Baby & Gunna and returning chart champ Lil Wayne (Young Money). They're all expected to trend north of 125k. How much will opening box-office spike the Star ST? Will Wayne continue to earn big streams? Will we accidentally drink the bong water again? The answers to some of the questions will be forthcoming.

So right now, the album in US is at:
iTunes #1 & #11
Amazon Physical #1, #9 & #23
Amazon Digital #1 & #14
As for their competitors:
iTunes: #2 TOP, #6 Lil Wayne, #9 Lil Baby
Amazon Physical: #3 & #33 TOP / Lil Wayne & Lil Baby not Top 100
Amazon Digital: #2 TOP / Lil Wayne & Lil Baby not Top 100
Unless TOP have a big ticket bundle or merch bundle that artificially inflates their numbers, this should have the #1 in the bag.
Don’t know what to expect from Lil Baby’s streaming numbers (as the sales will be low) and Lil Wayne 2nd week streaming numbers.
