Wow she sold more than Ariana in pure sales. That is insane considering Ari had a massive hits behind the album.

Insane. In two years she grew from unknown to a hugely marketable star.

[34 (47) Don't Smile At Me 13 weeks (No. 34 for 1 week) *new peak*]

Impressive results from the GAS-countries! She's really come a long way considering that the EP has taken some weeks to months to even chart in some countries in the beginning...

'When We All Fall Asleep' should be eligible for gold by now. 'Don't Smile At Me' could be close to 2x platinum... Maybe a few more weeks for that.

I would say that the hype is comparable to Lana Del Rey in early 2012. Both acts represent a non-mainstream image and both have built up their popularity the non-traditional way. While most mainstream acts do so by being omnipresent in mainstream media, basically making it impossible for the general audience to miss them, both Lana and Billie have basically skipped them and used word of mouth (through social media) to have people become aware of them. This still wouldn't work if no one liked their music, so those instant high chart debuts (especially for an act that has just released her debut album) show that quite a few people seem to respond well to her type of musical performance.

Billie Eilish Eyeing Return to No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart
                                            By Keith Caulfield | April 25, 2019

Plus: Lizzo aiming for top 10 debut.

Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is aiming for a return engagement at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters. Those in the know suggest the set could jump back to the top, for a second total week at No. 1, with over 85,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending April 25.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the May 4-dated Billboard 200 chart (where Eilish may return to No. 1) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, April 28.

When We All Fall Asleep is currently in its fourth week on the Billboard 200 chart (through the list dated April 27). The album debuted at No. 1 on the April 13 list with 313,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. The set then slipped to No. 2 for the next two weeks.

Elsewhere on the upcoming chart, watch for Lizzo’s full-length debut album Cuz I Love You to possibly bow in the top 10. The set could start with maybe 35,000 units.

Following Cuz I Love You, the next-highest new entries on the list could arrive outside the top 10 from the likes of The Rolling Stones' new hits collection Honk and Cage the Elephant's new studio release Social Cues.
