Can you tell me what exactly counts for billboard do the girls performances from Inkigayo/Music core count , do reaction videos with the song in count. Will the James Corden performance count.

Does the dance practice count also?

Also why is the album not charting in this upcoming week surely it should be top 20.

If Im not mistaken every video (more than 30 secs and tagged as “music video”) with the original song on it counts towards Billboard (Official M/V, practice video, reactions...), I’m not sure about live performances, I think those do not count, only the videos with the “original studio version”.

HITS didn’t name them because Blackpink is a new group with an unprecedent amount of variables hard to predict. They don’t have previous albums performance data, they have several videos going viral, they don’t know how many genuine fans with tickets will redeem the digital EP and how many tickets were sold to scalpers...

YG announced that the US leg of the tour already has sold 60.000 tickets, If many people redeem the EP their album could go up to the Top 5.

Btw, YouTube videos count only towards the Billboard Hot 100, not the BB 200.

Thanks for the reply so James Corden performance would not count towards the hot 100.

Its quite weird they count reaction videos but not live performances.

You got any article about how it tracks it so i can read up.

Well, as I said before I’m not 100% sure but I think live and cover versions are not included, only videos where the original song is played. If a reaction video is under the “music” category and it has the original song on it (without the youtuber screaming and cutting the song every 3 seconds) it should count.

I remember how Miley Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball bounced back to the #1 spot at BB Hot 100 after a viral video of a guy naked on a ball in Chatroulete.

I wasn’t able to find a link to an article about what i said about “music” category and the 30 seconds rule, but I remember reading about it here at UKmix and some other places. I’ll keep searching ;)

Kill This Love is currently #15 on the BuzzAngle album chart.

Kill This Love is also #21 on the singles chart.

Apparently this is quite correct in its predictions but i feel they are underestimating BP a little.

The EP is probably not eligible for the album charts there OR is included on the singles charts.

Why should not be elegible? The EP costs $5.99 which is higher than the $3.49/$3.99 Billboard rule for the first weeks. Also, they had a ticket bundle with more than 60.000 tickets already sold and a merch bundle. I don’t understand why HITS didn’t include them.

Did I miss something relevant about the EP and Billboard?

                                      He’s talking about Germany.

Each country has different rules regarding the minimum number of tracks or length to be eligible for the albums chart.

For example in Spain it needs to be 30 min or longer or otherwise have 5 or more different tracks to be eligible for the albums chart.

I thought that too, but I noticed the set with the 2 versions of the album is already included in each edition’s total numbers. I hope they reach SU total sales before the release date, tho

China is smashing, they prove themselves as a huge market and the lastest IFPI reported that aswell. They are now the 7th biggest country when it comes to music revenue.

What would be the estimated sales for BP in UK with 40 on Album and 33 on Singles . I did expect a little more album wise for the UK.
