Peaked with 54 countries, They can't achieve #1 spot in US. That's bad (i know there is 2 version).

Atlantic records doing very bad promo in US, maybe they can't landed on #1 on Billboard 200. It was easy week for Coldplay. I'm afraid.

                    WILL COLDPLAY GET TRIPPIED UP?

Based on the earliest glance at the tea leaves, Broken Bow's Jason Aldean is expected to take next week's #1 spot with a likely battle for runner-up. Coldplay (Parlophone/Atlantic) and Ten Thousand/Caroline's Trippie Redd were both forecast pre-release to finish the week somewhere close to 80k. Could the Ohio rapper trip up the Brit band and land at #2? Watch this space for our projections.

This isn't a commercial album so i won't be surprised if this under performs everywhere (UK included).

For what it’s worth, a #3 peak would represent their “worst” charting position since 2002.

However, it would still represent an unbroken 17 year run of top 5 albums which I think is tremendous all things considered.

Just posted this in the HDD topic as there was a discussion about Coldplay's performance as well, but let me post it here as well:

I'm not surprised with these predictions as 1) it's a much less commercial album compared to their other albums and 2) none of the singles entered the Hot 100 so far while they always had at least one Top20 hit going into their previous albums.

Same could be said about other countries. This probably won't have the same legs as their previous albums in many markets as the singles failed to connect with the GP.

So will it be another 'Ghost Stories' scenario for them? That album didn't have the longevity on the charts as 'Mylo Xyloto' or 'A Head Full of Dreams'...

There's a rumor that they'll release a more commercial album in 2020 and tour that album.

I wondering what is Atlantic Records doing on Everyday Life.
Orphans hadn’t included on Spotify & Apple Music’s big playlists.

I think unfortunately Coldplay have started going down the Nickelback route in terms of public perception. People hate them for no reason.

What I don't understand is how trash like Maroon 5 manages to have an audience, and these guys are just collapsing with such a great project. I guess it's because M5 went from pop/rock to straight pop, whereas Coldplay came from Alternative, went full pop at times and then are going back again. I think the chainsmokers collabs and the very pop singles hurt them quite a bit. But that's just my speculation.

Chris and other band members didn't wanted this album to be commercial. But their management team and record label doing very bad promos. Maroon 5 now joke, 7 band members and even more Adam levine's solo band. People likes to hate popular bands.

Honestly, Coldplay's US fanbase is not very much as like Europe. That's why they need promo.

                                                  #77 (-8) Orphans: 1,026,934 (31,461,936)

I agree that they won’t have huge opening weeks but they are still Coldplay and this album will have decent (not great) streaming numbers. Also, they have a HUGE catalog that still gets millions of streams everyday, so they will be fine
