  • Last week, 'ABBA Gold' re-entered the German Albums Chart at number 99. It is now the 4th longest-running album of all time in Germany, overtaking the Beatles '1962-1967':

6 albums have spent more than 300 weeks on the Albums Chart (as of 8-2-2019):
    1. Andrea Berg – Best Of – 349 weeks
    2. Helene Fischer – Best Of – 344 weeks
    3. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here - 336 weeks
    4. ABBA – Gold – 321 weeks
    5. The Beatles - The Beatles 1962-1966 - 320 weeks
    6. The Beatles - The Beatles 1967-1970 - 312 weeks

Helene Fischer, Germany's biggest-selling female singer of all time, will probably overtake Andrea Berg's 'Best of' soon.

Justin - There is a good reason for that - nothing is happening, as regards ABBA.

We may have to wait until December for the New Songs.

The 2 hour NBC/BBC, (US/UK), ABBA TV 'Special' may never be made.

The 'ABBAtars' may, (or may not), eventually be ready. Unless ABBA see them
as too much hard work and scrap the entire idea...

So there is really nothing to add about those ABBA 'Projects'.

As they did in on Friday 13th March 2009, 'Red Nose Day', (BBC 1), is doing a parody
of 'Mamma Mia!'. (The 2019 parody is being shown on Friday 15th March).

In 2009 they parodied Film 1 and this time it will be Film 2. (Said Sherlock Holmes!).

Later in the Year we will get a 'Deluxe' - '40th Anniversary' Edition, of the 'Voulez-Vous'
Album. That could be as soon as April. We will see...

              • Justin -- Benny and Bjorn really don't like giving ABBA Fans 'Bonus' material, on the 'Deluxe' Albums.
By 'Bonus', I mean Tracks and Alternative Versions, that we've never had before.

I think that we can pretty much forget about getting any 'unreleased' Tracks on the 'Deluxe' 'Voulez-Vous'.
Benny and Bjorn don't believe in such things, and they hardly ever change their minds. With us getting
New ABBA Songs, much later in the Year, they probably think that they are 'spoiling' us as it is...

It is rumoured that the ABBA Singles that will be released in a Box Set, (from 'Voulez-Vous'), will be
on 12 Inch Vinyl, this time - to reflect the fact that much of that Album is 'Disco'.

Of course, 'Disco' does not 'fit' 'Chiquitita' and 'I Have a Dream', but they will probably be on 12 Inch too.
'Does Your Mother Know' is not really 'Disco' either.

Apparently the 12 Inch Singles will consist of: 'Summer Night City', 'Chiquitita', 'Does Your Mother Know',
'Voulez-Vous' - twice. Which means that, 'Voulez-Vous' will likely have the USA Extended Version
on one of the 12 Inch Disks
, and the other Disk will have the normal Album version. 'Gimme! Gimme!
Gimme', will be on 12 inch too. As will 'I Have A Dream'. They will all have their usual 'B' Sides, except for
the Extended 'Voulez-Vous'. I don't know what will be on the 'B' Side of that.

Or - There may be one 12 Inch Disk of the 'Voulez-Vous' Single, with 'Angel Eyes' either on the 'A' Side
too, or on the 'B' Side. The 'B' Side could be the Extended 'Voulez-Vous', (USA - 1979), either on its own,
or with 'Angel Eyes'. The 7th 12 Inch Disk may simply be the 'Voulez-Vous' Album. With all 7 Disks put
                in a fancy Box...

There is no use any ABBA Fans getting upset, if there is nothing 'Unreleased' on the 'Deluxe' 'Voulez-Vous'.
Benny & Bjorn know what the Fans would like, and it became plain a very long time ago, that they are
not interested in that. It is their Music. They control it. ABBA Fans have 2 choices - to buy each 'Deluxe'
Album, or to not buy each 'Deluxe' Album. That's called a 'Reality Check'...

I recall 'Chiquitita' being on 12 Inch Vinyl in Germany, in 1979. Polydor said it was a 'Maxi' Single. It
was just the usual 7 Inch version on 12 Inch Vinyl. The same with the 12 Inch 'Does Your Mother know'
in France. The same with the 12 inch 'The Winner Takes it All' in the UK. The same with the UK, Irish,
German etc. 'Lay All Your Love On Me', in 1981. ABBA didn't believe in doing anything 'Special' for
those releases. It was a case of Fans paying extra - for 12 Inch Vinyl - when the Tracks were the
same as the 7 Inch versions...(Alan Jones, of 'Music Week' called the 12 Inch 'Lay...' poor value for
money. He pointed out that it was twice the price of the rest of the UK's Hit Singles, when it was
just a 7 Inch Single really. Nothing exciting for the money. Not even 2 'B' Sides. He predicted that
the price and poor value, would cheat ABBA out of a UK Top 5 Hit - and he was 100% right - No.7).

If there are several 12 Inch Singles off the 'Deluxe' 'Voulez-Vous', it will remind me, that my 2 favourite
Tracks of it, were not only left on the Album, but they were not even 'B' Sides ' 'As Good as New' and
'If It Wasn't For The Nights'...

                • Lorraine is breaking news according to Dan Wootton Bjorn told him this weekend there are many more new ABBA songs to come besides the two already recorded and they hope to release those two in the autumn...

                  • Thank goodness, that Dan Wootton has raised the prospect of a New ABBA Album, after he
recently had a meal with Bjorn. I was starting to lose interest in ABBA.

For those who do not know, Dan Wootton is from New Zealand, and he is ITV Breakfast Time's
                    Showbiz 'Expert'.

Yesterday - Tuesday 5th March - he was on the 'Lorraine' Show, with his ABBA News.

Here is the Video of that:

                      • Justin - it is amazing what 24 hours can change. Yesterday, I was very excited, about
Dan Wootton's 'ABBA News. Now - 24 hours later - I am not so euphoric about it.

He works for 'The Sun', as well as being Showbiz 'Expert' on Lorraine Kelly's 'Show'.
The question is - what exactly did Bjorn tell him, when they ate together? Was it
really that ABBA had recorded a lot more than 2 New Songs? That there may be
                        enough for an Album?

Or, did Bjorn say nothing like that and Dan just wants 'The World' to think that he
has an 'ABBA Exclusive'? What is the real 'ABBA Story' here? Is Dan 'exaggerating'?

So, after thinking about Dan's claims, I'm no longer as excited, as I was yesterday...

                        • Dan Wootton does 'The Sun's Showbiz - Bizarre Page every Saturday. He takes up a Double Page,

when Saturday arrives. Dan has not even mentioned his 'ABBA News', in today's Double Page spread.

Nor has he got the Weekly 'Bizarre' Editor - Simon Boyle - to mention it in his Monday to Friday 'Bizarre' Column.

Dan mentioned the 'ABBA News' on his Twitter Page on Tuesday March 5th - but he has not mentioned it since.

I don't know Dan, but I don't like a lot of the things that he writes. He can come across as very arrogant and unkind. He is not liked.

Just look at the Digital Spy Forums Thread devoted just to Dan...Almost all of it negative

                          https://forums.digitalspy.com/discus...41/dan-wootton

Now Gorel Hanser - ABBA's long time friend - has been asked to comment on Dan's ABBA claims' She has told
                          the ABBA Intermezzo Site this:

                          Thursday March 7, 2019

"Special thanks to Görel Hanser, ABBA's management, who told us that they have no comments about Björn mentioning to Dan Wootton that he and Benny are writing new songs for ABBA. Görel told us that the release
info will be posted on ABBA's
                          social media in due course".

Which neither agrees with Dan's claims, nor dismisses them. So we are no wiser, as to what ABBA are planning...

But after reading The Statement from Abba's Manager, Gõrel' who normally would be quick to dispel any rumours of this type about Abba....

I am wondering. could what we thought was impossible finally happen after all these years of waiting and hoping... for a 'New Abba Album!!'??

                              • On Wednesday, (13th March), Bjorn was interviewed at the South by Southwest, (SXSW),
Conference in Texas. He discusses the 2 New Songs in the first half of the Interview. He
is only asked about those 2, which is probably why he gives no indication of any more than
that. He also discusses The ABBAtars. It looks like The ABBAtars will be entirely CGI in any
Videos that ABBA use to promote the New Songs. However, they will not be entirely CGI

                                    • 20 years ago this week, the 'Mamma Mia!' musical debuted in London (in the West End at the Prince Edward Theatre on April 6, 1999).

At the same time, an ABBA medley which was performed at the 1999 Brit Awards by Steps, Tina Cousins, Cleopatra, B*Witched and Billie Piper entered the UK Singles Chart at number 4.

All this led to a second ABBA revival (after 1992) and huge sales for 'ABBA Gold' and other compilation albums.

                                      • As reported in Belfast Telegraph.

Rebooted Abba set to release new song ‘in September or October’

Abba’s Bjorn Ulvaeus has revealed fans can expect a new song “in September or October” from the four-member Swedish pop group that broke up 37 years ago. Ulvaeus told Denmark’s Ekstra Bladet tabloid on Wednesday that “it takes an extremely long time” to make the video with the avatars of the group members, adding “it has been delayed for too long”.

The band earlier said Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Faltskog reunited to plan a virtual tour featuring digital avatars, and that one of the two new songs is entitled I Still Have Faith In You. Abba shot to fame by winning the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo, and had big hits in the 1970s including Dancing Queen before splitting up in 1982.

                                        • Bjorn has given a big Interview to Dan Wootton, in today's 'The Sun'. (Saturday 6th April).

In it he confirms that there will not be an ABBA Biopic Film. Not while he's alive, anyhow.

He also seems to confirm that we are to get an entire New ABBA Album - not just a few New Songs...

I'm still unclear, if The ABBAtars are to only be CGI, (ABBA as in 1979), from the neck up, and 'Body Doubles'
from the neck down, or if they are to be entirely CGI...

                                              • Here is a very interesting article from the Official Charts Company regarding ABBA's singles sales in the UK :

                                                https://www.officialcharts.com/chart...-songs__26113/

I was pleasantly surprised to find updated sales information for some of the songs - and they were surely higher than what I expected!!

                                                • Besides ABBA's UK Singles Sales, The OCC has also compiled ABBA's Biggest Selling UK Albums
                                                  - up-to-date. (Only 'ABBA Gold' is mentioned, regarding ABBA Compilation Albums. However,
we must not forget that 'Greatest Hits', (1976), has outsold all of ABBA's UK Studio Albums,
with over 2,600,000 Sales. Beaten only by 'ABBA Gold').

The OCC give 5,580,000 Sales to 'ABBA Gold' - the most that they have ever given it.
