Yes. That 400k is pre-orders not prediction for first week's sales.

    Uk pre-orders 111k, but 1st week sales about 200k.

      • ABBA may not do so well in Eastern Europe.
with Number Ones in UK, Germany, Australia, Sweden and a #2 in the US I am sure ABBA are pleased with those results.

Here is the verdict of the Lithuanian people.

It's #23 and #62. Weird. Still very disappointing though.

              • To be honest I don’t expect it will do well in Hungary where Eurovision has been wiped out of the social Callander for controversial reasons . Neither do I think it will do well in Poland because people will scared of being called names if they buy ...it same in some other territories .. but let’s be glad it’s done well in so many other countries

Why would it do well in Lithuania? When ABBA were originally together, Lithuania was a part of The Soviet Union, most people had no access to pop music. So you can almost guarantee most Eastern European countries ABBA won’t do well with this album.

It was meant with a twinkle in my eyes, as Lithuania seemed to be the third country, where an entry of Voyage was verified.

In Hungary DSMD was a Number 4 at least. It's not that ABBA were totally unpopular in the east european countries.

Abba were very popular in Eastern Europe, they were some of the rare western artists that had authorised official releases and all the shipments were always sold out. Also piracy for their records were know to be quite huge in those same countries. So it actually is surprising they didn't even manage to get into the top 10.

                          • Things have changed since the 70s though.
Social issues are far more surface and spoken about .
The way in which Abba are seen and reported to represent are influencing factors unfortunately especially in eastern block societies and old Russian states . Life over there is pretty bad if you are of certain minorities

                            • There seems to be a lot of myths about ABBA and Eastern Europe. The most notorious that Arrival sold 1 million in Poland.

Sales for Gold Greatest Hits were very low in Eastern Europe.

                              Three types of Europe:

                              Germanic/Northern + NW
UK/Ireland Germany/Switzerland/Austria Netherlands/Begium and Norway/Sweden/Finland/Denmark. These are the countries ABBA do best

Latin Europe/Southern Europe: France, Spain, Italy, Portugal

Slavic/Eastern Europe : Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic etc ABBA not so popular

Poland and Hungary can fairly be described as having Far Right govts. These countries are very homophobic, xenophobic and their govts increasingly authoritarian.

                                • Australia:

"Music legends ABBA take out their first #1 in Australia in nearly 30 years as they return with Voyage. The quartet’s first studio album since 1981’s The Visitors features ten tracks written by ABBA's songwriters, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and includes the singles ‘Don't Shut Me Down’ (#27 Sept. ’21) and ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ (#39 Sept. ’21). It’s the second ABBA album to top the ARIA Charts after the compilation ABBA Gold spent four straight weeks at #1 in December 1992. Prior to the ARIA Charts, ABBA had #1 albums in Australia with ABBA (11 weeks, Dec. ‘75 to Feb. ‘76), The Best of ABBA (16 weeks, Mar. ‘76 to Jul. ‘76) and Arrival (8 weeks, Nov. ‘76 to Jan. ‘77). Voyage will be supported by a concert residency, also called ABBA Voyage, that will take place in London beginning on 27 May 2022 and will feature the digital avatars of the group."

Sadly they didn't publish any sales figures.

                                  • Nameless we should not be discussing our opinions on politics on here, a mod already intervened on the jab topic)

l have much respect for Hungary's President, at the moment!!

Voyage' has done very well, in Eastern Europe on iTunes,
, their income is lower though. Plus why would you buy music, on low income, when its available to listen to it all for free, that last factor was never available in Abba's earlier Career, so it is all the more satisfying to See Abba Voyage' reach No. 1 a good happy ending for them!!

So with more than 200k copies sold in Germany, 'Voyage' has the best opening week of an album since 'Rammstein' by Rammstein, which sold 260k in its first week in May 2019, and the best opening by an album by an international act since Adele's '25' which sold 263k in its first week in November 2015.

The album with the best opening of the 2010s in Germany was Helene Fischer's self-titled album which sold 300k in its first week in May 2017. That was the highest figure for an opening week since Herbert Grönemeyer's 'Mensch' in 2002, the biggest selling album of all time in Germany.
