              • Both 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' and 'Angeleyes' are in this week's Shazam Global Top 200 (at no. 74 and 125, respectively):

Shazam is an application that identifies music based on a short sample. People use it when they hear an unknown song and want to know the title and the artist who sings it.

                • Gold is up Two Places to Number 2 on iTunes Global Chart, Mamma Mia at 85, Voyage' not in the 200.

Abba,'s YouTube Daily stats, don't seem to have been updated for a while, must be the ghost in the machine, trend demic were experiencing.

                  • I'm sure most people on here are familiar with the chartmasters site. The physical album and singles sales of about 135m and 53m seem plausible. You can understand how the streaming figures are worked out.

But downloads? I've only ever seen a few stats from the US and UK. How can you workout global sales.

I guess downloads only big from roughly 2004/5 to about 2012/13.

                    https://chartmasters.org/2016/11/csp...ysis/12/?amp=1

As for physical singles, we only really have a good idea in the UK snd Japan and reasonable guestimates in the US, Germany, France. Admittedly these are the largest markets.

The physicsl singhles list, unlike the album one, not broken down by country.

Voyage disappeared from the german midweek update. It's very likely that it will not appear on friday's official chart after 34 weeks.

Another thing concerning Germany: I read today an online readable issue if a Billboard magazine (April, the 17th or so, 1976), that ABBA have sold until then (or whenever before the article was written) 3 million singles and 350k albums in Germany. S.O.S. has just passed the 500k mark and Mamma Mia the 300k mark. The latter one has just left the german Top 10, but remained another two months in the -by then- Top 50 (The article mentioned Mamma Mia still being number one, but it wasn't). Fernando was just released. Albumwise there was the succesful Waterloo-album (#6) and the semi-succesful selftiteld album (#31). The Best of ABBA began its chartrun in October 1975, but became more and more succesful in spring 1976 (in September 1976 it reached the top).

Many years ago, I searched through old articles in Billboard Magazine for sales information about ABBA. I found the following information about Germany:

17.04.1976 West Germany: Mamma Mia 300k and still number one, SOS 500k, until now 3 million singles and 350k albums sold
1.5.1976: West Germany: Fernando selling 300,000 copies in just 10 days (sales or shipments ?)
6.11.1976 West Germany Fernando sales in excess of 600k
20.11.1976 West Germany Arrival 200k in 14 days, Money Money Money 100k
4.6.1977 West Germany sales for Arrival more than 500k
25.2.1978 The Album in West Germany 250k inside a month
7.10.1978 Stig Anderson – album sales 400k in East Germany
8.9.1979 East Germany: sales 50k for each single, 40k for each album
West Germany: "Very Best Of" and "Arrival" 3 x gold (750k) each; "Money Money Money" and "Knowing Me Knowing You" 300k each (too low?)
23.1.1982 West Germany: sales of three LPs alone in 1981 passed the 2 million mark

This information is interesting but has to be viewed with caution. Some figures seem too high (there's no way 'Fernando' sold 300k in just 10 days, maybe they confused actual sales with shipments) or too low (MMM was a huge number one hit in Germany around Christmas time, I'd say it definitely sold more than 300k).

                                          • ABBA have now 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify (24.070.363 to be exact). That's the highest number of listeners that I remember seeing.

They had between 21 and 22 million monthly listeners in September of last year, when the first 2 new songs came out, and when their music became acessible on TikTok.

In early 2022 the numbers were lower, between 19 and 20 million.

There has been a big increase of listeners in the past few months, due to all the press coverage of the 'Voyage' show and an increasing popularity on TikTok.

Three years ago, in September and October 2019, they 'only' had between 10 and 11 million monthly listeners.

                                            • There are some milestones ahead concerning ABBA's Spotify performance:

Dancing Queen will pass the 750 million mark within the next seven days (and end this year with approx. 820 million - 850 million. Next year it will join the songs-with-more-than-a-billion-streams-club).

Lay all your love on me will hit the 200 million mark in late summer.

Waterloo and Super Trouper might reach that goal later this year (Chiquitita - next in line- probably in 2023)

Money, Money, Money is just a few millions away from the 100 million total.

Angeleyes still has enough fuel in the tank to do the same in late summer or early autumn.

ABBA's total numbers on Spotify passed the 4.7 billion mark a few days ago. In September or October the 5 billion mark is due.
