It looks like GOLD sold 4,700 last week - sales and streams.


Year sales at 194,500. It should miss that 200k figure. But best result in quite a few years.

On the abbachat forum someone named Foreverfan has posted some interesting ABBA-related sales figures, taken from the book "The music chronicle 1983" by Sean Gregory.

Quite interesting: The Album Super Trouper sold 1,045m until the end of 1983. The Visitors 720k.

As someone on the mentioned forum later pointed out, The Visitors sold 107k between 1994 and 2015. The total sales may be close to 900k.

I read that. It was Super Trouper that had, reportedly sold 107,000 between 1994 and 2015 bringing total to over 1.2 million.

The Visitors is said to have sold 73,000 in period 1994 to 2015. But yes, it's total including 720,000 1981-83 and other missing years could well be around 900,000.

'Little Things' has entered the list of ABBA's 10 most streamed songs on Spotify, at number 10. It currently stands at 21.25 million streams.

'Dancing Queen' has now surpassed 850 millon streams.

Good End of Year results from Germany. But a reminder the cut off point is Mid December. The Voyage 2022 #3 position includes the last 2 weeks of 2021 when it was selling well.

A full calendar year would have a lower position - but srill much higher than the UK.


On the French SNEP certification site only 3 ABBA releases on it. But quite a few from The Beatles. Why aren't more ABBA albums on it? Certifications in France have been around since the 1970s.

ABBA have their momentum on Spotify again, as their monthly streaming numbers are rising towards 25 millions (24.4m to be correct). Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! is now less than a million streams away from the 500m. By daily streaming rate of anything between 450k and 500k everybody can calculate on his/her own, when it's due.

'Happy New Year' has seen a bigger increase in streaming numbers this month (+2.4 million) compared to the months before (+0.3 million in August, September & October; +0.7 m in November), despite the fact that New Year is still a couple of days away. I guess it is featured in quite a few Christmas playlists.

Next month, 'Lay All Your Love on Me' & 'Slipping Through My Fingers' will very likely overtake 'Take a Chance on Me' & 'I Have a Dream', respectively.

Angel Eyes really sticks out like the sore thumb. I am amazed the novelty factor has not faded away. Nice to see LAYLOM getting attention it didn't when originally released.

The swiss year end charts were first aired on December 25th via a swiss radio station and a day later published on hitparade.ch. So start and cut off either christmas or the last sunday of a year (as swiss charts are always published on a sunday and this year the 25th was a sunday).

And ABBA are on a good way to surpass the 25m monthly streamers mark (Now approx. 24,760m). Don't know, if they ever managed that. The last months the number jumped up and down like a jojo, always between 21m and 23m or so.
