Top 10 songs with the highest increase in streaming numbers over the past month:

    1. Dancing Queen +23,0 m
    2. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! +18,7 m
    3. Lay All Your Love on Me +9,8 m
    4. Mamma Mia +9,5 m
    5. Angeleyes +7,2 m
    6. The Winner Takes It All +7,0 m
    7. Take a Chance on Me +6,5 m
    8. Waterloo +6,1 m
    9. Chiqutita +5,4 m
    10. Money Money Money +4,8 m

This month, many of ABBA's songs had bigger increases in streaming numbers compared to the months before, due to the fact that ABBA's music is always extremely popular around New Year's Eve (many of their songs, not only 'Happy New Year'). 'Dancing Queen', for example, has gained 23 million streams in the past month, the highest increase since I started comparing the monthly stats (which was in April 2022).

As reported earlier this month, 'Lay All Your Love on Me' overtakes 'Take a Chance on Me', and 'Slipping Through My Fingers' switches places with 'I Have a Dream'.

Next month, 'Dancing Queen' & 'The Winner Takes It All' will come closer to 900 million & 300 million streams, respectively.

We might also have one or two new entries as 'Andante Andante' and 'When All Is Said and Done' are close to 30 million streams.

    • And Dancing Queen probably will surpass 900m streams earlier than The Winner Takes It All the 300m.

      • Gimme Gimme Gimme gaining ground on Dancing Queen in monthly increases but still far behind in All Time stats.

GGG far ahead of Mamma Mia in 2nd place slot.

            • Lay All Your Love On Me is now #3 on the list of ABBA's monthly most streamed songs on Spotify. It surpassed Mamma Mia and Angel Eyes. The latter one slipped down to #5. And Money, Money, Money has entered the Top 10 and replaced Super Trouper.

                  • Mixed fortunes for ABBA on the UK album chart this week

                    Good for Gold
                    Main - 13 (15) 1083 weeks on chart
                    Sales 14 (22)
                    Physical 26( 28)
                    Download 11 (12)

Against (my) expectations it does better on
                    Downloads than Physical

                    Bye Bye Voyage
Drops out of Sales Chart and slips to 96 from 91 on Physical Chart.

                    *BREAKING*

Slipping Through My Finger goes Silver. It is the first non-single to get an award. That Mamma Mia film and show gave it a lease of life

                      • Great news for Slipping Through My Fingers, even if it looks like that songs are certified quite inflationary in these times (not only in the UK).

Nameless, you've wondered a few weeks ago, which song could be next. I haven't expected this one to be it. But now I try: the next song to be certified (except the ones, who already are certified and get an update) will be Don't Shut Me Down.

                        • I think 'Slipping Through My Fingers' by Abba is their first non-single track (i.e. the first not to have been released as an actual single) to be certified in the UK.

                          • And it's the 2nd time this song got a silver award. In 2021 Meryl Streep's and Amanda Seyfried's version went silver.

TfromBinG, I did indeed speculate which song would be next for a Silver award. I did mention Slipping Through My Finger as a contender.

Like you I think the next one will be Don't Shut Me Down. Just over a year ago in Music Week it was reported to be on 100k.

Robbie - It is certainly the first non-single to be awarded a sales disc.

Thank You For the Music was issued as a single in December 1983 - several years after being album track. It reached #33.

My fault for the confusion here. I was mixing up two Abba songs and two of your posts and typed up the wrong title as a track that had gone Silver!

                                      • Yeah, Nameless, you named the song! (I mean this positively). And anyhow it helps The Visitors gaining more EAS.

Some day a song will be certified that wasn't a single in the UK but elsewhere, like Honey, Honey or Eagle.

It would be nice if before that happened the big hit singles would get certified in other countries. No digital certifications even for the likes of Dancing Queen, Gimme Gimme Gimme or The Winner Takes it All in Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Australia or the US.

I make it 24 songs that has got a certification - digital or physical. The 19 GOLD songs, I Do x5, Happy New Year, ISHFIY, DSMD and now STMF.

Only 3 countries have supplied digital certifications for the older songs - UK, Denmark and Italy and only Sweden has awarded certifications for ISHFIY and DSMD

Yes, that explains why the streaming numbers of the song have gone up on Spotify. It gained 1.2 million streams in the past 7 days.

Not sure I'd count Angeleyes as it was part of double A side with Voulez Vous.

So 25 or 26 if you count Angeleyes.
