    • Are they really new entries? Shouldn't they be re-entries? :-? Some of those weeks on seem low too for some.

      • Nope, all correct.

If it's a reissue, then I've specified it.

Otherwise it must have something to do with a new catalogue number or something as I agree the numbers seem too low.

          The Dreaming - 11

                    • Kate Bush sets new Official Chart record!

Kate Bush has set a new Official Chart record after becoming the first female in history to score eight albums on the Official Albums Chart simultaneously.

Following a triumphant start to her critically acclaimed Before The Dawn live shows (her first in over 35 years), legendary British singer/songwriter Kate Bush has claimed a place in history as the female with the most simultaneous entries in the Official Albums Chart Top 40.

As well as dominating this week’s albums rundown including two albums in the Top 10, Kate now rides only behind Elvis, the overall record holder who managed 12 entries in the Top 40 following his untimely death in 1977, and The Beatles who notched up 11 simultaneous Top 40 entries with their 2009 album reissues.

See the full list of Kate’s Official Albums Chart performance this week, comprising 11 entries in the Top 75, below:

6 THE WHOLE STORY KATE BUSH RHINO
9 HOUNDS OF LOVE KATE BUSH FISH PEOPLE
20 50 WORDS FOR SNOW KATE BUSH FISH PEOPLE
24 THE KICK INSIDE KATE BUSH RHINO
26 THE SENSUAL WORLD KATE BUSH FISH PEOPLE
37 THE DREAMING KATE BUSH FISH PEOPLE
38 NEVER FOR EVER KATE BUSH RHINO
                      40 LIONHEART KATE BUSH RHINO
43 AERIAL KATE BUSH FISH PEOPLE
44 DIRECTOR'S CUT KATE BUSH FISH PEOPLE
49 THE RED SHOES KATE BUSH FISH PEOPLE

Though not an exhaustive list, other notable female achievements in this area - Madonna had three albums in the Top 40 in 1987, as well as featuring heavily on the Who’s That Girl film soundtrack which was also in the Top 40 at the time. Following their untimely deaths in 2011 and 2012, both Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston saw two of their albums simultaneously enter the Top 10 and Top 75, respectively. And Joan Baez dominated the charts for several weeks in the summer of 1965 with three albums in the Top 20.

More recently, Led Zeppelin also saw three of their studio releases (Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin 2 and Led Zeppelin 3) enter the Top 10 in June 2014 following a set of deluxe reissues.

Kate is no stranger to making chart history of course; back in 1978 the star became the first female artist in history to score a UK Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with a self-penned song. Wuthering Heights went on to top the chart for four weeks, becoming the first of Kate’s 26 Top 40 hits.

She's an incredible artist with such a quality-rich catalogue, that this only makes the record-breaking all the more brilliant.

Amazing achievement - every album (10 studio + 1 compilation) that she's ever released charting in the Top 50.

This sort of thing usually only happens when iconic artists die.

I really need to explore her discography myself and help to ensure that some of the above albums continue to chart next week.

                                              Yeah for real.

She's one of those revered artists who obviously I had heard of but I'd never thought about buying one of her albums until now. Didn't realise there was a law against discovering their music in such a way? Or is everyone only allowed to buy albums and enjoy music from those artists who they've liked right from the beginning of their career?

I'd still love Anastacia wholeheartedly (as I always have, even when her music was very popular) if her new album was a massive success, nothing would change at all, a lot of current mainstream acts simple do nothing for me and that is just the truth.
