        42 (75) Queen Greatest Hits

Number 59 sold 3,240 copies, so Greatest Hits will probably have done 4,000.

Total sales in 2014 were around 54,000 copies.

It sold about 76,000, 65,000 and 75,000 in 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively, so a combined 270,000 since reissued in 2011. Released in 1981 and still one of the strongest catalogue selling albums.

Queen Forever has sold around 151,000 copies so far. Which means that both Greatest Hits and Queen Forever managed a cumulative 205,000. Adding Greatest Hits II, Platinum Collection, Live At The Rainbow and the studio albums, we easily get 300,000 or even a little bit more, as alluded by Loris two weeks ago.

        • Not bad, HUR, even if Queen Forever in the next weeks will drop again. But we'll always have Greatest Hits and Platinum Collection selling well. Do you think the Queen's albums have reached 1,000,000 copies in UK since 2011 till now?

Thanks for this, Luca. Just a small correction: Platinum Collection finished the year with 2,396 copies from what I can see on the Gaon chart.

                              • Below is an article from the UK charts company regarding Status Quo achieving the feat of 500 weeks on the UK album chart. Why am I drawing attention to this you may think, well within the article it mentions Queen's total now stands at 1457 weeks, so my question is can we assume that this year Queen may well become the first act in UK chart history to reach 1500 weeks on the UK album chart?

With Queen currently having 2 Albums in the UK Top100 album chart (Total Weeks are now 1461) could they reach that magical 1500 weeks in 2015? who knows, but it may well be worth keeping a close eye on the total as the year progresses, I think it's a tall order as both Greatest Hits and Forever may well drop out of the chart soon, but I can't quite see any other act overtaking Queen in the race for the first to reach 1500 weeks!

Legendary rock band Status Quo have reinforced their position among the all-time great British album acts today by chalking up their 500th week on the Official Albums Chart.

The band have reached the magic landmark with their latest album Aquostic (Stripped Bare), which accumulates its 11th week on the Official Albums Chart rundown today, landing at Number 34.

The achievement puts Quo among a select group of only 50 acts with 500 weeks or more on the Official Albums Chart. The outfit with most weeks on chart of all is Queen, whose tally of 1,457 weeks puts them ahead of The Beatles (1,406 weeks) and Elvis Presley (1,364 weeks) in second and third place.

                                            Some Spotify upadtes

The total in brackets is the amount achieved since November 25, when Jimmypafes59 provided us with totals for the 23 songs below (link: viewtopic.php?p=5351602#p5351602):

                                            Bohemian Rhapsody – 62,596,174 (3,644,043 since December 15 and probably 4,649,514 since November 25)

                                            One Vision – 4,957,227 (222,108)
These Are The Days Of Our Lives – 4,173,413 (329,899)
                                            Innuendo – 3,797,311 (246,879)
                                            Save Me – 3,647,681 (296,394)
Too Much Love Will Kill You – 3,368,416 (329,298)

There was a problem with Bohemian Rhapsody. Jimmypages59 reported 59,946,660 by November 25, but it was actually at 58,942,131 in December 15, so there seems to have been a mistake in Jimmy’s total from November 25, which was probably 56,946,660 (instead of 59,946,660).

Total – 26,775,124 for 22 songs, without Bohemian Rhapsody

Total with Bohemian Rhapsody – 31,424,638 for all 23 songs (assuming Bohemian Rhapsody had 56,946,660 streams by November 25)

Total streaming is probably 475-500 million from Spotify.

Queen Forever has definitely sold over 160,000 in the UK.

Thanks for posting this, Luca. These are just CDs sales, no digital. But I believe Icon isn't available for digital downloads, so it doesn't make a change here.

The good thing is that, by December 29 2013, Icon seems to have been on 32,761 copies.

WEEK OF / SEMAINE DU: 01/05/2014 TOP CANADA

So Icon sold almost 33,000 copies in 2013 and 76,000 in 2014. A total of 109,000 units by early 2015.

And the good news is it has recently gone back to the Canadian Top 100 (along with Greatest Hits).

                                                          I estimated 95,000-100,000 in December 2014, so I was a bit conservative.

In addition, Queen's albums sold a further 59,000 in Canada last year, including Forever and Live At At The Rainbow.
