In addition it mentions what we all know:

                  • Who would've thought that the soundtrack would still chart in a few top 10s at this point? After all, the movie was released back in November 2018. Very impressive!
Is it offensive to fall in love with you and everything you do
                    and everything you stand for?
Could I break through your invisible wall, could I hide my pride for once,

The same could be said about ASIB soundtrack or TGS, both have sold even more but the fact that it's a collection of songs many people already know is impressive. I expect it to be a successful catalogue album for years to come.

                      • Yes, those soundtracks turned out to be very successful, too. And all of them managed to chart high at the same time in some countries - it wasn't just 'Showman' or 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or 'A Star Is Born' dominating the charts.

Regarding 'Bohemian Rhapsody': I initially thought that it would perform like 'Fifty Shades II': Charting for a few weeks in the top 10 and on the whole chart for like 4-5 months. And now that those 4-5 months have passed, it's still in a few top 10s, even reaching new peaks in some.

They wrote timeless music that appeals to many generations. Old fans and new still want to hear Queen, looks like they are going to get a lot of new fans in China too!

                          • Indeed! Their music didn't stick with the 40+ generation, they seem to be popular with the younger people, too, otherwise that greatest hits album wouldn't have returned to the top 10 in so many countries after having been released more than a decade ago. Who else achieves that? And the band isn't even actively promoting it...

It's not just the Greatest hits album, it's The platinum collection and the BR soundtrack as well as significant increase in sales in the rest of their catalogue, which I might add is 15 studio album and many live albums.

It is, but it probably isn't getting reported on a daily basis anymore. The weekend numbers should come out either with estimates or finals.

I have it coming in 13th place over the weekend following a good ~25% decline for around 40 million ($360,000), bringing its total up to ~12.62 billion ($113.2 million). I'll continue to track it for as long as possible.

In other Fox news, Bohemian Rhapsody opened in China this weekend, via a heavily censored (around three minutes of gay content removed) cut that nonetheless earned $6.3m in its debut frame. That gives the Bryan Singer-directed Freddie Mercury biopic a still-absurd $889.1m global cume. If we counted Bohemian Rhapsody as a superhero movie, it would soon be the biggest solo superhero movie behind Captain Marvel, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Aquaman, Iron Man 3and Black Panther.
