  • Re: Queen :: Charts & Sales History

Every time it seems, that there are limits for it's chart (gross) running, the movie still surprises us, again again and again. Just amazing. As amazing the power of Queen's legacy

I'm not quite sure about you've put down here Braca. It actually increased by over 25 million during the week, was that what you meant?
No I was trying to say, the week previous to last week total, it made 18,2 m to get to 772 m
Hence ' not slowing down' but rather picking up
This week it is indeed 25+ m
It actually took over 16.3 million the previous weekend. I'm not sure what the full week was but it was close to 40 million. It has dropped this weekend by about 30 percent or so.

Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody is now the biggest 2018 release in 13 international markets, including Japan ($88.6M), Italy ($30.5M) and the Netherlands ($19.3M). The cume on the Freddie Mercury biopic will imminently cross $800M global and $600M international.

So the international total was 13.564 million or 11.314 million? The comscore website completely confuses me.

                    >Bohemian Rhapsody finally experiences its first real drop, and it came after almost three months of release! A decline was likely given how its performed since last Monday, and after the weekend pre-sales came in, but a drop close to 40% is harsher than expected. Still, its eleventh weekend is still the seventh biggest on record. Incredibly impressive. I'm expecting it to more or less perform like a regular film from this point forward, and expect it finish close to ¥12 billion ($110 million).

                    • I wonder if it might stay flat next weekend. It was because there was a big release at the number 1 spot.

                      • Does anyone know how much BR would have to gross in Japan to have a higher multiplier than 'Frozen'?

                        Comment

                        • 8th of February sees the BR soundtrack release on vinyl, I think this will be pretty big actually. I also think that if it was released at the same time as the other formats, it would have reached number 1 in more countries, especially the UK! Baffled why they didn't do it.

                          Comment

                          • According to the-numbers.com, BR has now reached 801,982,484. Those estimates yesterday on Boxofficemojo.com were far too low. That means the film is still holding up very well, despite a fairly large drop in Japan, that in itself might be inaccurate. That is almost a 4 million dollar difference from the estimates. If this is the real figure, then the film dropped by a only about 10% globally.

                            • So. In the last 7 days globally its taken 27 million dollars. At a 10% drop per week drop and having another 5 weeks on general release, I worked out that the next 5 weekends will look as follows.
                              January 27th - 24.3 million
                              February 3rd - 21.87
                              February 10th - 19.6
                              February 17th - 17.7
                              February 24th - 15.9

Total as of February 24th 2019 is 900.37 million dollars. This doesn't take into account the Digital release on February the 16th which might give the cinematic release a total hammering and the film could collapse.

Saying that the Oscar nominations are released tomorrow (January 22nd). This might help, or it might not, if the film and Rami Malek don't get any nominations.

Difficile possa arrivare a 30, ma è anche vero che finora il film ha stracciato tutte le previsioni. Le quasi sicure nomination potrebbero rappresentare l'ultima spinta prima del declino.

Always tonic Bohemian Rhapsody (watch the video review), which reaches 26.4 million euros overall with 27 in target for the end of the week. Difficult to get to 30, but it is also true that so far the film has torn all the forecasts. The almost certain nominations could represent the last push before the decline.

I would overtake The Phantom Menace, Up, Toy Story 3 and The Orphanage. Add and follow.
