Some interesting information on worldwidealbums.net, Queen have been one of the biggest selling international acts of the 2000's in Italy. I have them down as the 9th biggest selling act in that category, pretty good I think considering they have brought out no new material apart from the Cosmos sucks. Interestingly, Led Zeppelin or Rolling Stones aren't there.

Thank you, Bestiamodesta. I was the one who asked you about the #1 singles achieved by Queen.

Very interesting. Where did you get those stats from Yugoslavia?. I had never found them before. Do you have other peak positions over there and some album stats?.

Thank you, Trueno. So, it sold 15,000 copies there. So far, it was certified platinum in New Zealand, and gold in Portugal, Denmark and Australia.

I have to do a "mea culpa". I have claimed several times, that I thought that Queen had sold over 60 million singles worldwide. I was reviewing my own figures and a couple of claims and I think that they have most likely sold 50 million singles or, at the very most, about 55 million. That is still very good. According to several Queen's books, the band was on about 25 million by December 1980, that it fair to assume they have duplicated that total ever since then considering big singles like "Flash", "Radio Ga-Ga", "I Want To Break Free" and "Another One Bites The Dust", which became a #1 single in early 1981 in countries like Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, Zimbabwe and even Spain.

The same for their videos, I claimed something like 12 million. But that was inflated, I would say. I still think they sold over 6 million DVDs but my VHS estimations are probably on the high side. Therefore, I think that Queen sold 9 to 10 million on such format.

Thank you, Lee. Is this the final week of the year?. I think that Queen might end up the year with about 600,000 albums sold in UK. That is good.

Yesterday, during an Italian TV programme (Match Music News), I've heard a very amazing news: the album of Susan Boyle was certified GOLD in Italy. This album did the same course as Absolute Greatest, even if Queen haven't reached GOLD yet.

    QUEEN SUSAN BOYLE

    #32 -
    #21 #50
    #22 #28
    #23 #21
