I do not know how many out of the SS number of 1m was sold between 2002 and 2006 but that number is unaccounted for in the 3P
If streaming is even more on YouTube then we are looking at 5P rather then 4p

I worked out that these ‘should be’ certified as follows.

Sheer heart attack - 1 x platinum.
A night at the opera - 4 or maybe 5 x platinum.
News of the world 5 x platinum
Jazz 2 x platinum
The Game 5 platinum.
Hot space 1 x platinum.

I do not know about the other titles but
If the THE PLATINUM COLLECTION - Queen ( 1,435,000 ) that slightlymad posted is correct than PC should at least be 4P
Greatest Hits (1992) must have scanned almost 4,500,000 by December 2002 (7P)
It is at ( 7,717,000 now (Slightlymad posting)
Adding the WWRY version (1,250,000 by July 2015)
That gives a total of at least 11,467,000 there is a discrepancy in sales vs shipments but I cannot imagine that is more then 467k so I put GH at 11p

Thanks for that but these figures are very out of date, especially the BR soundtrack. That figure is from 3 weeks ago. Both albums are currently out of the mediatraffic top 10. The BR soundtrack in the last week took 40,000 copies, the same as the previous week.

The BR soundtrack climbs back up the UK top 10 this week from 10 to 7. Elton John has 2 albums at 5 and 6 this week, will be interesting to see how they hold up. The Platinum collection drops just 2 places despite several new releases.

Thanks for this, although I question MJDs way of collecting information. Those figures are mostly taken from the discogs website, by seeing how many second hand LPs and CDs by each artist are for sale. There is no actual chart info, but it makes for interesting reading. He did Brazil a few months back as well.

I know this not really news but im writing it anyway. On its ist 12weeks the BR film was soldout 4showings aday yet as of next week rocketman the film is going down to 2showing its said coz most showings were only halffull this is in chippenham

Yep, I can believe it. Chippenham though is a small market town in Wiltshire and Rocketman is quite an arty, leftfield type movie compared to Bohemian Rhapsody which was much more of a mainstream film that appeals to many different demographics I think. I enjoyed them both.

I went through it on the train on Monday. It feels like one, just like Trowbridge. The BR soundtrack lat week took 48,000 globally. It’s at about 3,150,000 globally and I think the new Elton John movie has actually helped it a bit. Its picked up a bit on Kworbs website.

Bohemian Rhapsody 2018 Year End Movie Box Office - These just show the incredible success the movie had all over the world even topping a lot of year end charts. Considering the Hollywood blockbusters BR was up against the success is even more startling! (Apologies if this has been posted before)
