    • Greatest Hits is the third biggest album in the UK for 2021 so far...
      https://www.officialcharts.com/chart...so-far__32850/

Of course, it would not hold this position at the end of the year, I think, because there will be new releases from the likes as Adele, Ed Sheeran, ABBA, Coldplay...

      • Albums are so front loaded these days. Expect a massive drop this week. Freddie Mercury’s 1992 album sold 4 million copies worldwide. I’m pleased RTs album made it to number 3 but expect it to disappear fast!

        • The new Roger Taylor album has actually dropped right out of the UK top 100 in its second week. I wasn’t expecting it to drop that fast!

                  • Love it Loathe it there is no doubt that the Bohemian Rhapsody film has bought a new generation of fans to Queen. This is highlighted by the amazing team over at Chartmasters, they are currently running a series of articles titled 'Streaming Masters' where they look at the equivalent album sales (EAS) from streaming for numerous artists including many classic groups.

Below is a list of classic bands viewed in a similar vein to that of Queen and as you will see Queen hold a considerable lead over there contemporaries!

                    10,700,005 - QUEEN
                    5,691,400 - Fleetwood Mac
                    5,208,141 - U2
                    4,886,127 - The Beatles
                    4,842,109 - Led Zeppelin
                    4,568,793 - Metallica
                    3,164,628 - Guns N Roses
                    1,962,363 - The Police
                    1,720,818 - Van Halen
                    1,495,800 - The Doors
                    1,427,794 - Black Sabbath
                    1,200,579 - Deep Purple

Truly impressive numbers for Queen, almost double that of the No2 position, I will endeavour to update the list as more classic groups are featured, can anyone take Queen's crown?

Braca hi, there are always issues around the numbers on chartmasters. They can vary from one day to the next, I think they still have to do some work on how they collect the information.
