      Thanks
-Queen's "Made In Heaven - The Films" sold 11,000 copies in UK. In Brazil, it did 15,000+ copies too. That means 26,000+ from these too countries. Around 50,000 worldwide. Believe it or not, it shipped more in Brazil than in UK.

-"We Will Rock You" was certified double platinum in USA in november, 2002, for sales of 200,000. It should be at 250,000 by now. According to an article only the 2001's edition was certified: "The Record Industry Association of America has awarded Pioneer Entertainment's DVD release of QUEEN: WE WILL ROCK YOU an esteemed Double-Platinum certification for reaching over 200,000 units sold. Boasting newly restored, digitally re-mastered film, THX certification and unique anamorphic features, QUEEN: WE WILL ROCK YOU, released October 2001, continues to rock audiences around the world and generate retail ...". It had been released in 1997, selling 164,000 copies, according to Soundscan. In Brazil, it has shipped around 25,000. Worldwide, I estimated it at 450,000.

-"The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert" sold around 300,000 copies worldwide.

-"Final Live In Japan" was released in 2004, in Japan alone, and sold 10,000+ copies (it reached #1 on the international chart). Then, "Live In Japan" was released in a few other countries, as a ripp-off from the original japanse edition (my copy isn't the best, really, in terms of quality). It was certified platinum in Argentina (4,000+) and peaked at #4. It was top 20 in other countries, like Italy, France and Sweden. It sold around 30,000 worldwide.

-"Super Live In Japan" sold about 10,000 copies. It was a japanese only release.

-"A Night At The Opera" was certified platinum in Australia (15,000), and sold 7,000 in UK. In Brazil, around 20,000 copies, overall. It reached the top 10 in many countries, notably in Italy, where it reached #2 ("M&D"), but in Greece, Germany, and others too. Worldwide, it sold around 150,000.

-"Queen Jewels" sold 33,000 copies in just about 10 weeks in Japan. It reached #1 in Japan during 5 weeks, even on the national chart with local acts as contenders. Around 50,000 copies, overall.

As for their VHSs, this is the only thing I know:

              • I was wondering if someone knew Queen's album sales in the UK for all their albums. They are huge in the UK and always have been, was wondering how they catalogue sales hold up in comparison to other bands from that era. Cheers.

There were no charts back in the 80's. They started in april, 1991, as a bi-weekly chart. Enno (a german poster of this forum) was kindly enough to provide this information. In the all-time list, based on pints, Queen are #2.

Incidentally, now that we were talking abut Queen DVDs sales worldwide, we have a new certifications for Queen's "Live At Wembley '86". It was certifed gold in Belgium, in 2007, for sales of 25,000 copies.

Nuclear, MJDangerous has estimated each Queen album in UK, one by one, on this site: http://fanofmusic.free.fr/BestSellers.php?Act=Queen

The total adds up for 24 million albums.

                    • HUR, again thankyou, does anyone ever wonder what Queen would be doing today if all four members were alive. We were so lucky to have them around for so long, they always will be my favourite band, Im so happy that so many people still appreciate their music, long may it last.

If Queen were still together today as the original line up they would be the biggest band in the world

If Queen were still together today as the original line up they would be the biggest band in the world

                              • Thank you, Luca. A lot of Queen albums have re-entered that chart last year, including their old compilations and even "The Miracle". And now, "Queen Jewels", which I guess is import from Japan.

-Poor total for "Queen Rock Montreal", although somehow expected, as the DVD was released on the same week.

-Nice boost by "A Night At The Opera", even if it shipped poorly during both 2007 and 2008. But the last figure we had was from june, 2006, and the album was largely stocked over the second half of that year.

-"Platinum Collection", whenever it is released again, will eventually reach 6 times platinum (1,800,000).

There is more to come when I complete everything.

                                      Hello Nucleardolphin,

Sorry, sadly, it is impossible to have such detailed shiments figures for other territories. On page one, you can find their Nielsen Soundscan sales since june, 1991, up through the end of 2005 (although some figures are bit more recent).

For other cuntries, we only have a couple of claims here and there but not comprehensive sales.

To sum up and translate the relevant information:

-Their catalog sells nearly as much as The Beatles's.
-In terms of sales, only The Beatles are ahead of them.
-"Greatest Hits 2" sold neary 400,000 copies up through november 2001; even if this is incorrect as it had already reached that mark by october, 1999, by selling 506,000 copies.

Juan, thank you for the information.

                                          • Hello Luca. No, sorry, I don't have such information, although I would love to. I posted the entire article here where you can see the british top 40 (Queen had two tittles on it, "Platinum Collection" and "Queen On Fire"):

                                            "J. M. COSTA, - Buenos Aires - 10/03/1981

(March 10, 1981)

                                            The Game: 120,000

I'm very glad I have finally found a figure for this tittle in Argentina. It should have been certified double platinum already at that time. This figure was revealed two days after they did their last concert in Vélez. If we add further sales achieved on the back of the tour after it ("tour effect", does it sound familiar?) and catalog sales since 1982 (no that we have to expect that they were particularly high, though), I can see this album at 180,000 as a minimum or even 200,000 as it was claimed.

                                                Total: 554,500

                                                Several trends:
-It looks like all of their studio albums have one "high" code (ranging between 6,000 and 9,000), with the other ones being smaller (1,000 or 2,000). Decent sales.
-Big compilation sales, including their recent tittles.

A massive total. By comparison, Madonna shipped around 500,000 over that period, between 2003 and 2009, which means that Queen's total sales are in line with what she sold. And she is still active, she even released 3 studio albums since then. Very big.

...so the old one is now outselling the new one again.
it's very smart strategic marketing from the folks at Hollywood. Many times, they bring in new GH albums and make the old one obsolete. They're still putting both the 92 and WWRY editions on sale at places like Target and Best Buy, whereas many artists' new GH albums usually are marketed to render the previous one obsolete (look at Elton for instance here, his 1974 GH and the followups have basically stopped selling since the GH 1970-2002 and single disc Rocket Man #1's were released.
