Yes, those soundtracks turned out to be very successful, too. And all of them managed to chart high at the same time in some countries - it wasn't just 'Showman' or 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or 'A Star Is Born' dominating the charts.

Regarding 'Bohemian Rhapsody': I initially thought that it would perform like 'Fifty Shades II': Charting for a few weeks in the top 10 and on the whole chart for like 4-5 months. And now that those 4-5 months have passed, it's still in a few top 10s, even reaching new peaks in some.

They wrote timeless music that appeals to many generations. Old fans and new still want to hear Queen, looks like they are going to get a lot of new fans in China too!

The same could be said about ASIB soundtrack or TGS, both have sold even more but the fact that it's a collection of songs many people already know is impressive. I expect it to be a successful catalogue album for years to come.

I found this on another forum

China looking at a fantastic ¥10m today, giving roughly $1.5m. Also a 9.6 on Maoyan (up from 9.5 earlier).

It has very limited showtimes, which was expected, but if it can get more then 900M is looking very good.

What is the 'building album sales chart'?

That is what the site shows (building the sales chart)
It shows something like 33%, then 61% (on early friday usually) and finally 100% of the Physical album sales.
Sales are reported over a period of time final numbers in at Friday night

I assume that is why they call it like that

Considering how Bohemian Rhapsody was panned by critics, but embraced by the market, "art house" would seem an odd classification for the film. THR's sources say the limited release plan was arrived at as something of a compromise from China's Film Bureau. If Bohemian Rhapsody proves a commercial hit during the early days of its limited run, however, theater operators may well expand its screen count — there will be no go-to mechanism of restriction once it's already in cinemas.

The other possibility is that the film has incredible legs like Japan and South Korea, so it plays out in a limited run but in sold out theatres for months, potentially bringing in a large final number. Japan's opening 2 day weekend was only 3.2 million and it now stands at 112 million.

There's no longevity in Chinese market. It's a very fast turnaround there. They have lots of their own production they need to fit in + foreign (Hollywood) movies.
