                • IRON MAIDEN's new collection, "Somewhere Back In Time – The Best Of: 1980-1989", has registered the following first-week chart positions:

                  Sweden: #2
                  Norway: #7
                  UK: #14
                  Finland: #34
                  USA: #59
                  Germany: #85

"Somewhere Back In Time – The Best Of: 1980-1989" sold 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This very special album charts the first decade of the band's extraordinary career. The CD celebrates the essence of the current tour by featuring most of the essential tracks from the band's first seven studio albums and one live album, recorded between 1980 and 1989.

IRON MAIDEN guitarist Dave Murray will be interviewed by KNAC.COM's DJ Junkman this Monday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. PST.

You can listen to the program live via the Internet at www.knac.com.

I got my copy of the magazine today. Not many news sales/charts wise, but there were SS numbers for their two biggest releases since 1991:

                      Fear Of The Dark (1992) - 438,000
                      Brave New World (2000) - 307,000

Neither are certified in the US, but Fear Of The Dark must be close to Gold.

Career albums sales are 70 million according to Billboard.

The Life After Death DVD has sold 35,000 according to Soundscan.

Especially impressive given they are not 'classic' Maiden albums. Wonder what the 80s albums do, especially 'Live After Death'?
