Incredibly Dylan's classic 60's and 70's albums have scanned between Gold and Platinum since 1991.

Modern Times is now his best selling album since Slow Train Coming in 1979.

Somehow Dylan bucks the trend of older artists selling less and less studio albums.
Of course, Modern Times is certified platinum (january 2007)

This one is wrong. From Billboard, September 2005 (release of No Direction Home) :

Fellow rock legend Bob Dylan enters The Billboard 200 at No. 16, his highest ranking on the chart in almost four years, with "No Direction Home: The Soundtrack -- The Bootleg Series Vol. 7" (Columbia/Legacy). The soundtrack to Martin Scorcese's biography of the singer/songwriter moved 51,000 copies. Dylan last reached the top 20 with 2001's "Love & Theft," which began at No. 5 with 134,000 copies and has sold 754,000 to date.

The label reported that the album is Platinum in the US with sales in excess of 1m, but it is notified as Gold only on RIAA website.

NEW YORK - Bob Dylan's new album will be released one week early as a free online stream on National Public Radio's website.

NPR Music will stream the entire two-CD, "Tell Tale Signs," beginning at 12:01 a.m. EDT Tuesday. It will be available for listening at least until Oct. 7, when the album is officially released by Columbia Records.

"Tell Tale Signs" is the eighth volume of Dylan's ongoing rarities compilations, titled the "Bootleg Series." This edition includes out-takes and rare cuts from the last two decades. An alternate version of "Mississippi" - a song from 2001's "Love and Theft" - was earlier made available as a free download at Amazon.com.
