Total: 1.3M

In US:

Rebelde 400K

In Brazil, I think sales are similar to Mexico based on AutomaticBr's thread. So another 1.3M.

So in these 3 countries, sales are 4.3M. Let's add up all certs and missing sales in other Latin American countries, and let's say RBD has sold 5 million in the Americas.

The other big market is Spain, where they may have sold 0.5M. Even if we give them another 0.5M in the rest of Europe, that'd be another 1M. Total to this stage: 6M.

I don't see how they have sold 4M in the rest of the world :-?

Nahhh, in Brazil those albums sold way more than that.

I think 700K is a bit generous for the rest of Latin America, checking on the market size the maths just don't add.

Finally, keep in mind that labels in Latin America are well known to inflate sales numbers for artists.

1. You're right, I didn't get the certifications from that site, I used AutomaticBR's stats of his topic.
2. They're not listed under 'RBD' but 'Rebelde'.
3. I only used the site to confirm the albums really did sell that much. If you go to *here* you'll see that Nuestro Amor was the 3rd bestselling album of 2006, Nosso Amor Rebelde #14 and Live in Hollywood #15. So that fact confirms that those albums sold a lot. In 2005 both versions of Rebelde peaked at resp. #12 and #13 in the year end chart (YEC).

The fact that the versions of Rebelde peaked lower than Nuestro Amor in the YEC makes the fact that Nuestro Amor is a 2x diamond album seem more true.

I think it's weird the certifications of RBD's albums are not featured, same counts for RIAA, for not adding 'Celestial' as gold!

I closed the other RBD thread i started and included the info from there to here:

Ok so their new album Empezar desde Cero was released yesterday (Nov 20) in the US. First single "Inalcanzable" is doing quite good on the charts:

I also learned that the video for "Inalcanzable" will premiere on December 6th according to rbdword.org.

I predict along with that they'll sell like 5-10k. Tops.

The US & Mexico are right, you can check RIAA & AMPROFON for the certifications, they're right. The Brazil ones are not fully 100% confirmed, but they are pretty reliable, coming from AutomaticBR's Brazil sales article. And so on, the Spanish sales he wrote above are real too. The others, can't say much bout those...

They didn't sell that much in Japan, nor in France. The album ('Rebels') did not chart in any country, its impossible for it to sell as much as you say. idk anythin bout the Romanian chart, but it seems pretty hard to believe for me, could be me, but i just feel that way (and yes, i'm a fan!).

yeah!obviously, they haven't sold 10M, nor they haven't sold only 6M.

I think it would be right a number between 8 and 9,5...

In grupo-rbd.com the last number was 9,5M

well, actually Rebels had a good entry in japansese charts, at least the first week, the CD was in the eight position...

and in France, the single Tu amor had a good promotion (how you know, they won an important radio award)...

this is near information, for big markets like France and Japan, where platinum are 200.000 copies and 250.000 copies sold...this numbers are, at least, quite near to the reality...

30.000 for France and around 75.000 for Japan, in these big markets are not specially good sales, I think xD

Fabio those sales are truly fake. In France, the album has not even charted in the top 200, 300 sales are suffisant to enter on it. I NEVER heard them on French radio, they are as unknow as Country acts here. If they sold 5,000 albums during all their career I will be impressed.

In Canada, as far as I know they never charted in the top 100, they also never earn a single certification.

A lot of figures you posted are definitely fake.

Hate to disappoint you, but the #8 peak is a fake, it was made up by a fan and kept edited it in wikipedia, and made ppl believe it charted at #8. The fact is it didn't chart, u can look it up in the Japanese chart archives in the forum here.

They didn't even sell 1,000 in France, cuz they album did not the chart. They won that "important" by online votes, and well, many (popular) fansites urged ppl to vote for RBD, to get them to win it. So that's how they won.

They really didn't sell more than 10k in either of the countries, sorry...

But their sales are high in Mexico, US & Brazil xD

The RIAA are not only slow to certify RBD when it comes to latin albums their slow all around their hasn't been new updates in nearly 14 months and a bunch of albums that have come out in that time should be gold platinum or multi platinum at this point
