This is an article of Hits Daily Double :

YOUR WEAKEND TOP 10 PREVIEW: The top of the charts next week will be a debut-free zone, as two Christmas albums make the most of the remaining window and some of the yearís biggest hits show off their long legs. Josh Groban will own the chart for at least one more week, moving an expected 650-675k units of Noel (Reprise). Alicia Keys (J/RMG, 250-275k) and The Eagles (ERC, 225-250k) appear to be the Xmas presents of choice this year, while seasonal franchise Mannheim Steamroller (American Gramaphone, 200-225k) picks up, um, steam. The Disney duo of High School Musical 2 (175-200k) and Hannah Montana 2 (165-185k) comes next, followed by EMMís Now 26 (160-180k). Country stars round out the Top 10: Taylor Swift (Big Machine, 130-140k), Carrie Underwood (Arista/RMG, 125-135k) and Garth Brooks (Pearl, 100-110k). Thank you, America, for giving the gift of music. Now get outta here, you knuckleheads. (12/14a)

the fact that he now sold a lot with a Xmas album in Xmas time don't make him an important artist.
you created already a lot of topic about xmas sales, predictions or news about josh sales, why continue to open new?

It's the first about Josh Groban (The other is about US Sales, and this week the news of US Sales = Josh too !). Now He's a very important artist in terms of sales, it's natural to make a thread about him.

vancoring, can you please edit the title of this thread?

                            Maybe "2008-2009 sales"? Or "5xp"?

4,3 million at the United States. Worldwide, I don't know exactly but I think it's around 5 million.

4.7-4.8 million seems reasonable by the end of 2008, does it?

                                        1/3/09 charts:

Catalog Report: Josh Groban's Noel tops the Catalog Albums chart for the seventh straight week. The album sold 172,000 copies this week, its biggest frame since the last week of December last year. It would have ranked #7 on the big chart if older, catalog albums were eligible to compete there. This brings total sales of the album to 4,530,000.

My expectation was 200.000, but 172.000 is a superb result !

                                            US Best-Selling Albums of 2008

                                            28. Josh Groban, Noel, 915,000. This was the year's top-selling holiday album for the second year in a row. Only two other albums in the Nielsen/SoundScan era have been the best-selling holiday album of two different years. Kenny G's Miracles-The Holiday Album was #1 for 1994 and 1996. Now That's What I Call Christmas! was on top for 2001 and 2002. (The top newly-released holiday album of 2008 was Enya's And Winter Came, which ranked #63 for the year).
                                            Chart Watch:

Catalog Report: Josh Groban's Noel tops the Catalog Albums chart for the eighth straight week. The album sold 86,000 copies last week and would have ranked #12 on the big chart if older, catalog albums were eligible to compete there.
