                WHAT MAKES YOUR TOP 20

Luke Bryan lands his fourth #1 debut this week. Bryan previously scored the #1 spot with 2015ís Kill The Lights. Two stream-heavy releases, Big Sean & Metro Boominí and Quality Controlís Control The Streets, are likely to land in the Top 5.

NEW RELEASES: A FRESH CHART BATTLE?

Data is notably scarce at present, but depending which way the winds blow we may witness a chart battle between Warner Bros. crooner Josh Groban and RCA's new-school lad band Brockhampton.

A variety of factors could shift the balance between now and when our chart closes on Friday, so stay tuned.

Brockhampton's 'Iridescence' Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart
                              9/30/2018 by Keith Caulfield

At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200, Josh Groban arrives with his new studio album, Bridges. It starts with 96,000 units, of which 94,000 are in traditional album sales. Bridges is the top-selling album of the week. Bridges garnered just 1,000 SEA units (equaling 1.5 million on-demand audio streams for its songs) and a little more than 1,000 TEA units.

Bridgesí entry is supported by sales generated from a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer for Grobanís upcoming tour, as well as old-fashioned album sales via Target, Walmart, the iTunes Store, Amazon and the like.

In total, Bridges is Grobanís ninth top 10 album. It follows his last studio effort, 2015ís Stages, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 with 180,000 units in its first week (176,000 in album sales).

Now, letís take a closer look at some of the action on the rest of the Billboard 200:

-- Josh Groban, Bridges Ė No. 25 -- The singerís former top 10 album returns to the list with 7,000 units (up 64 percent), of which 6,000 were in album sales (up 79 percent). The surge in activity is owed to sales generated by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with his current tour.

A few steps below Bridges, Grobanís holiday album Noel jingles its way back onto the tally at No. 141 (7,000 units; up 42 percent). Noel spent five weeks atop the chart in 2007 and 2008, and finished 2007 as the top selling album in the U.S.
