Journey’s recorded-music income is surprisingly strong for a heritage act that hasn’t released an original album since 2011. The band sold 298,000 albums and almost 500,000 track downloads last year. And streaming was respectable, too: 647 million

              • It's Official - A 31-Year Old Album Is This Decade's Billboard 200 Chart Weeks Champion

With just four weeks left in 2009, Billboard did away with the Comprehensive albums chart and admitted catalog albums to the Billboard 200. As a result, the longest-charting album of the decade 2010-2019 is an album that was already over 20 years old in 2010.

Released in 1988 (with some songs now 40 or more years old), Journey's Greatest Hits has been on the Billboard 200 for 492 of a possible 516 weeks so far. With seven chart weeks remaining in the 2010-2019 decade, it's eight weeks ahead of the runner up... an even older album, Bob Marley & The Wailers' Legend (1984).

It's logical given the rule change that the decade title would go to an album already charting in 2010, but it's perhaps a bit surprising that any album would be able to run on the chart for all but a half-year's worth of charts in the decade. And consider this: Legend has been on the BB200 for 306 straight weeks, well over five years, with no sign of slowing down. Journey's Greatest Hits has a current run which, at 100 weeks, looks small in comparison.

Here's the rundown of the current top 20 for weeks on the Billboard 200 in 2010-2019 (as of November 9, 2019). Twenty albums also happens to be the cutoff for all albums that have charted for at least half of the decade (so far). Albums marked with (*) debuted on the chart this decade (11 of the 20 on the list).

#21 on the list is (*)J. Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive at 256 weeks, so while there may be a few variations in order, the above will be the final top 20 for the decade as well.
