    Uhhhhh, bring it on!

But let's be real - this is a music forum where people post tour box office, not plays. So it stands to reason there would be an asterisk explaining that it's not a tour number for people who don't follow Cher 24/7.

Well, how the f am I supposed to know that. I can't follow every detail of every diva. If it's a play show and it's doing in line with other Broadway shows then these grosses are indeed OK. But now you can at least understand why I thought that for Cher these would be so-so numbers (if this was a series of music concerts of hers).

Cher is among celebrities, who sold more than 100M copies of records. The World Music Awards honor the artist, who's done that with the Diamond Award.
It's the right time for the WMA to honor Cher. Who can agree? Please, retweet this, if you do.

^Winning a Tony will be tricky, but tbh I'd be happy if the show (and Cher as a producer) get nominated.

^whoa you sure do have time on your hands and you're confused - she is not performing on Broadway, the show about her life is playing there, but as she's one of the producers the gross is reported here too...

If we're talking about 'Classic Cher' in Vegas, yeah my point was that her show is doing well, taking into consideration that it wasn't heavily promoted, the Vegas competition, her age, etc.

God, my comment has stirred some fans here.

Well the numbers are always up for possible spins. The fact is if she did an arena show in NY, she'd probably sell out 12k or whatever the capacity because she doesn't seem to have problems selling out arena shows in the US 8as evidence by these reports). But she does 8 dates on Broadway, with the overall capacity under your usual arena and does 70-80%. That, to me, looks like maybe they're handling things wrong.

Sure, you can go and say she is 72 years old, why does she have to sell out, what else does she have to prove or that the other Broadway shows didn't sell out either that week/month/whatever or make any other argument that this is the best possible scenario and that she "won". But she proved that she can do a sell out in this day and age, and obviously it's a thing about mishandling venues in my opinion. Maybe people don't want to see Cher in a theater? Would you, as fans, rather see one sold out arena show in NY or 8 theater shows with a quarter of tickets left to collect dust in the box office booth? I'm not being negative or trying to downplay Cher's success. I said these numbers are so-so (which means just that, good, but could've been better, but not very bad in any margin - unless I'm completely mistaken on what so-so means). If it was anyone else, my opinion would be the same on this matter.

Vegas is a bit different. I don't find non sellouts unusual there as things fluctuate there for everyone. There are great legs, bumpy legs and then they go back to great legs again. Also the competition has gotten much much bigger there and at some point the Vegas market will become oversaturated. That's the future reality.

The results are indeed quite good, I just hope we will get a tour DVD this time, it's been a decade+ since the last one!

Btw just went to see the gross of her 'Classic Cher' Vegas show (if that's the what you're referring to) and the sell-out rate is 91% so that's pretty good. Do I need to mention that she's 72 y/o diva with a 50+ year long career performing at the same place as some of the most current stars out there?

Just as well, her Vegas show is doing fine too. Considering the competition and the promotion of it, it does well all in all.

^ 'The Cher Show' on Broadway is doing fine, you cannot compare it with a concert tour. If you would do some research of weekly grosses during Feb/March on Broadway, you'd see it is the norm.
