^ That is a mistake for sure... If Believe has sold around 10 million in Eu plus US, where do the other 10 million come from?

About your numbers, if you're not gonna show any source/WW breakdown, they remains only strange numbers without any explanation

And also, many times labels releases fake/inflated sales figures, it's well known fact...

I'm sorry but my sources cannot be found on the internet. I have colleagues throughout the music business, and they work for Neilsen, Billboard, and a few major record labels including Reprise, Warner Brothers, and Geffen Records. You also need to remember charts were not based on sales prior to 1992 (in America at least); therefore there are no exact numbers of the total sales for albums and singles. But the site where I did retrieve the information about Believe being certified 3x platinum is the UKtop75 site.

    No they are clearly fake...
    Even adding digital downloads.

Where did you find them? I'd like to know your source...
    Or did you estimate them?

My previous posts are not false, and I find that some of your comments are rude, and uncalled for. I have been in touch with a lot of Cher biographers and people who were apart of her career. I'm currently writing a biography of Cher, and I thought since people were asking for this information I was willing enough to post it, and help answer some questions.
This is a serious chart analysis forum, we don't take fake claims as truths.

Believe has not sold 12 million and some other sales you posted are also completely false.
The Shoop shoop song +6 million? ARe you joking? It peaked at 33 in US and it's Gold in UK. If it had sold that much it would have been the best selling single of 1990-1991 easily.

The claim of 20 million for Believe album is even more ridiculous...

    Believe:

    USA: 4,750,000
    Canada: 750,000
    South America: 500,000+

    Australasia: 220,000+

    Europe: 4,750,000

    = 11,500,000+

    Heart Of Stone:

    USA: 3,500,000
    Canada: 550,000

    Australasia: 300,000+

    Europe: 2,000,000

    Canada: 200,000
    South America: 100,000+

    Australasia: 200,000+

    Europe: 2,800,000

    = 5,000,000

She was very much an average album seller around the world, considering the length of her career. But you have to take into account that the biggest-selling 60's albums were selling the same as what an album sells nowadays (2-5m per year). Her sales picked up a lot in the 80's, and stayed steady through the 90's, until she reached 1998, when she reached her commercial peak with the globally successful, hit-making machine known as Believe. The album topped loads of charts around the world, gave Cher her biggest hit ever (the 6m+ selling Believe) and reminded people of what made her a legend. I think its also worth noting that Cher has grossed over $570m in her career through tour ticket sales alone. By far and away, she is probably the richest female singer of her generation

Some of those figures - no all of them - are ridiculous
