Yeah, they should def do the same as BPI and combine the sales! Or at least certify Believe and IICTBT as Gold digital download singles.
I emailed 'ask Billboard' a few times and asked about the Cher Soundscan figures of all of her releases so let's see what happens, they publishing them next year would be more than appropriate as Cher's 50 years in music should be celebrated in every way!

Yeah, I was really pleasantly surprised too! I'd also love to know "Walking in Memphis", "Welcome to Burlesque" and so on.. of course I'd love to see the full list of all the digital sales for all Cher songs .

Anyway, she did sing "Believe" twice (on Today Show and DWTS) last year so I guess that boosted the sales for it - the song is timeless and still appeals to everyone! And I expected something like that for YHSTLOM as there are tons of videos with lots of views on youtube and of course many people saw the movie so I expected that many actually bought the song...

"Believe" sold 1,800 000 by 2000 so with the 500k it's way past 2 million - I hope it will get to be certified 2x Platinum in the US.
The same goes for "If I Could Turn Back Time" and "After All" - which should both be Platinum, and "I Found Someone" and "Just Like Jesse James" which should be Gold. Hope it happens someday soon!

Here are some Cher bits from the latest MJ Billboard article:

    ...

Jackson passes five artists that have tallied Hot 100 top 10s in each of four decades: Barbra Streisand, Cher (both '60s-'90s), Aerosmith ('70s-'00s), Madonna and Whitney Houston (both '80s-'10s). (Houston joined the elite club posthumously and, unlike Streisand, Cher, Aerosmith and Madonna, did so by returning to the top 10 with a song that had previously reached the region: her 1992-93 14-week No. 1 "I Will Always Love You" returned and rose to No. 3 following her passing in 2012.)

Jackson topples another notable mark: he extends his span of appearing in the Hot 100's top 10 to a record-breaking 42 weeks, six months and one week. "Got to Be There" began his top 10 history when it lifted 13-9 on the Nov. 20, 1971, chart; this week's chart is dated May 31. He passes Santana, whose top 10 discography spans 33 years and eight months, from 1970's "Evil Ways" to 2003's "Why Don't You & I." Cher ranks third with a 33-year, one-month, three-week top 10 span (1966-99).

Billboard Chart Record-Breakers: The Longest Music Moments Ever

Longest Gap Between No. 1s on the Hot 100

It was 24 years, 11 months and three weeks between the single week Cher's "Dark Lady" tallied at No. 1 (March 23, 1974) and the first week (of four) that her "Believe" spent at No. 1 (March 13, 1999).

Longest Span of No. 1s on the Hot 100

Cher holds the record of notching No. 1s on the Hot 100 over the longest period of time: 33 years, seven months and three weeks. The first of three weeks at No. 1 for "I Got You Babe" by Sonny & Cher was Aug. 14, 1965. The last week at No. 1 for Cher's "Believe" was Apr. 3, 1999.

This is what they said at the end of the article, I forgot to copy it

This ranking is based on actual performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart. Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at No. 100 earning the least. To ensure equitable representation of the biggest hits from each era, certain time frames were weighted to account for the difference between turnover rates from those years. (Thus, a song like "Half Breed," which spent two weeks at No. 1 and 20 weeks on the chart in 1973, is ahead of "Believe" on this list. That's despite the latter's four weeks at No. 1, and 31 weeks on the chart, in 1998-99.)

    Cher's 20 Biggest Billboard Hits

In honor of the legendary diva's birthday, we've ranked the biggest songs of her inimitable six-decade-long career

To celebrate superstar dance/pop diva Cher's birthday today (May 20), Billboard has unveiled the legendary performer's top 20 Billboard Hot 100 hits.

As we ... turn back time ... in our chart archives, we find that the Academy-, Emmy- and Grammy Award-winner's 1973 No. 1 hit "Half Breed" leads this exclusive list. (See a timeline of Cher's extensive career here.) The track is one of five No. 1s on this tally; four are by Cher as a solo artist and one from her time as half of Sonny & Cher. The husband-and-wife duo place five songs on this recap, including all five of its top 10 Hot 100 hits.

At No. 20 on the tally is Cher's debut chart hit as a soloist, the Bob Dylan-penned "All I Really Want to Do," which arrived on the Hot 100 dated July 3, 1965 (the same week that the Byrds' version of the song bowed; her recording went on to peak at No. 15, while their take hit No. 40.) A week later, Sonny & Cher's "I Got You Babe" debuted.

Here are Cher's 20 biggest Billboard Hot 100 hits:

Rank. Title, Hot 100 Peak Year, Position (Weeks Spent at No. 1)

    1. "Half Breed" 1973 Hot 100 Peak: No. 1 (two weeks)

    2. "Believe" 1999 Hot 100 Peak: No. 1 (four)

    3. "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves" 1971 Hot 100 Peak: No. 1 (two)

    4. "I Got You Babe" 1965 Hot 100 Peak: No. 1 (three)

    5. "Dark Lady" 1974 Hot 100 Peak: No. 1 (one)

    6. "If I Could Turn Back Time" 1989 Hot 100 Peak: No. 3

    7. "Just Like Jesse James" 1989 Hot 100 Peak: No. 8

    8. "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" 1966 Hot 100 Peak: No. 2

    9. "After All" 1989 Hot 100 Peak: No. 6

    10. "I Found Someone" 1988 Hot 100 Peak: No. 10

    11. "Take Me Home" 1979 Hot 100 Peak: No. 8

    12. "The Beat Goes On" 1967 Hot 100 Peak: No. 6

    13. "All I Ever Need Is You" 1971 Hot 100 Peak: No. 7

    14. "The Way Of Love" 1972 Hot 100 Peak: No. 7

Great - "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" was huge, wonder if the 212k download sales (reported by Billboard in 2011) were included in those three millions?

Anyway, I just found that the album 'The Beavis & Butt-Head Experience' which includes the Cher and Beavis & Butt-Head "I Got You Babe" (album's 1st single) sold 1,610,000 copies in the US!

Also, the song and the video was #5 on "VH1's "Funniest Moments in Music" list a few years ago!

‘Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves’ by Cher – Classic Hit or Miss
By Matt Hendricks January 11, 2012 12:34 PM

Cher, throughout a career spanning over 45 years, has broken many records. She is the only artist to reach number one on the Billboard charts in each of the previous six decades. Her hit dance single “Believe” is her biggest-selling recording and was the best-selling single of 1999, having sold over 10 million copies worldwide. She holds the Hot 100 record for the longest hit-making career span, with 33 years between the release of her first and most recent Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles, in 1965 and 1999 and 45 years between her first and most recent #1 ranking on any Billboard char Cher ended her 3-year-long “Farewell Tour” in 2005 as the most successful tour by a female solo artist of all time. Cher has sold over 100 million albums worldwide.

“Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves” was the first single from Cher’s 1971 self-titled album Cher. The album was subsequently renamed and re-released as Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves after the success of the single. The song was written by songwriter Bob Stone as a story-song called “Gypsys, Tramps and White Trash”. Producer Snuff Garrett advised that the title be changed and Stone then changed it to “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves”.

It hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 6, 1971, and it remained there for two consecutive weeks. The single also reached #1 in Canada and the Top 10 in many European countries, becoming the number-one selling single of 1971 at more than 3 million copies worldwide. Today it remains one of her signature songs.

    haha thanks, everything for Cher!
Well, this is from Paul Grein (from Yahoo!'s "Chart Watch"), in 2010.
    Question (Yahoo! User):
Paul, since Cher is kind of back, could you give us the SoundScan numbers for her albums: "It's a Man's World", "Believe" and "The Very Best of Cher"?
    Answer (PG):
A reader asked about Cher, who is kind of back, and I hope we can soon lose the "kind of" and just say she's back. It's A Man's World has sold 197K. Believe has sold 3,611,000. The Very Best of Cher has sold 2,549,000.
    Another user wrote:
A note about Cher's Very Best Of- there is a deluxe edition listed separate from the original release, that included The Farewell Tour CD- that has sold in the neighborhood of 250,000 or more (through early 2007, it stood at 241,000).

So, as IAMW was put on print again in January 2013, and sold at a price of $5 in MP3 Amazon for some weeks, it should be right now at the 200k copies mark

"Cher" released in fall 1987, has sold more than 1.1 million copies worldwide and has launched two hits - the top 10 "I Found Someone" and the top 15 "We All Slepp Alone".
    (Source: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1 ... 72,8567516)

I was very pleased to read this as many estimations on the internet point that the self-titled of 1987 sold over a million copies. If the sales were at 1.1m at that moment, they are pretty higher right now, because in those times Heart of Stone was released, and "Cher" became a catalogue seller
