If I understand BB200 rules correctly, Daughtry and Kid Rock will be moving to the catalogue next week leaving Taylor Swift [147 weeks] and Carrie's Carnival Ride [95 weeks] as the two leaders. Carrie and Alan Jackson are also having trouble staying in the top 100.

            • Number Ones should just have enough YTD sales to pull ahead of Fearless by 10k

YOUR WEEKEND CHART PREVIEW: In L.A. the nip in the air is enough to convince you that Halloween’s right around the corner, but all it takes is a quick glance at the projections immediately below to make it clear that we’re still in the dog days of summer. Michaelmania is no longer propping up the numbers, and unless something peculiar happens this weekend, no album will hit six figures. The one bona fide bright spot is a certain young rock & roll band from Tennessee, which continues its 40-50k weekly clip on an album that came out a year ago—consider this act officially broken. Here’s the pre-weekend picture:
              Reba McEntire (Valory debut) 90-95k
              George Strait (MCA Nashville) 65-70k
Michael Jackson Number Ones (Epic) 65-70k
Third Eye Blind (Megacollider debut) 45-50k
              Kings of Leon (RCA/RMG) 45-50k
              Neil Diamond (Legacy/Columbia) 45-50k
              Black Eyed Peas (Interscope) 35-40k
Hannah Montana: The Movie (Walt Disney) 35-40k
              Essential Michael Jackson (35-40k)
              Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 30-35k
              Now 31 (Sony Music) 30-35k
              (8/21a)

                • I wonder what BMR's numbers are for this quote or is it more likely just for the US before MJ's huge sales overtake Taylor's US sales for the Billboard year:

"Big Machine Records reports that Swift has sold more albums than any artist in the world so far this year."

She needs a real big global tour to go to the next level.

                                  Likely a typo I suppose.

What I find more strange is the claim in the story that Taylor sold the most albums in the world in 2009 - surely that is just the US [up to the point where MJ album sales passed TS]. A time period on the press release would have been nice - maybe January-June TS was #1 in world album sales.

Taylor mentioned a trip to NZ next year in a recent radio interview with a NZ station. Maybe there is some type of world tour in the works.

If BMR's President had not already said that there was a Fearless Deluxe version being released this fall, I would take Taylor's many hints to mean album #3 was ready for this fall. Maybe they have an early 2010 release planned?

Taylor mentioned a trip to NZ next year in a recent radio interview with a NZ station. Maybe there is some type of world tour in the works.
That's fantastic, I want her to come to NZ.
