This album has definitely shipped 4 million + so it's eligible for RIAA 4x platinum certification, whether the Soundscan numbers were 3.75 million or 2.2 million (hypothetical number)... Soundscan and RIAA are NOT related and neither's numbers have anything to do with the other.I was waiting for Bey to drop so she could show that T&A arent the only ones smashing album SALES!!!

SoundScan is a good *guide* to an RIAA certification.

Of course it is. I didn't want to create a second thread. The Taylor Swift Completed Chart History is just a thread with TS's worldwide chart histories.
It's just a kind of summarize of all the weekly pieces of information we get. Nothing moreOne heart you are following

SoundScan is a good *guide* to an RIAA certification.
Furthermore, Soundscan, AGAIN, doesn't track all sales for all albums. It still misses a pretty good chunk of the total sales of an album. So, in theory, an album could be double platinum and soundscan reports sales of 1.7 million - yet the album, in theory, could have pushed another 3 or 400,000 copies through vendors not associated with Soundscan.
Now back to the point, I am glad that Taylor Swift has scored two 4x platinum albums and I believe in my heart both go 5x platinum. I really hope that she benefits more than anybody from the VMAs cause she 1) already has done better than all of them when talking US album and single sales and 2) she didn't deserve what Kanye did and I hope it results in a drop in his next album's sales and a rise in her current album sales.I was waiting for Bey to drop so she could show that T&A arent the only ones smashing album SALES!!!

I love this...Taylor is now moving into R&B
http://www.billboard.com/column/chartbe ... 3461.story
"A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY ...: Kanye West and Taylor Swift continue to bump into each other in the unlikeliest of places.
This week, West debuts at No. 30 on the Rhythmic airplay chart (viewable at billboard.biz) as a featured act on Drake's star-studded "Forever." Lil Wayne and Eminem also guest on the track, which previews the LeBron James basketball documentary film, "More Than a Game," due in theaters Oct. 2.
West's appearance on the chart isn't surprising - "Forever" is his 30th entry - but the bow at No. 40 is more out of the ordinary.
At the Rhythmic chart's anchor spot, Taylor Swift crosses over with "You Belong With Me." The song topped Country Songs for two weeks and has reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, Pop Songs, Adult Contemporary and Adult Top 40.
How rare is it for a core country act to cross a hit from its home genre to rhythmic radio? Since the Rhythmic chart's October 1992 inception, only two other country acts have scooted onto the survey, and both did so in 1998."Red took 5 weeks to hit 2m in US sales. Speak Now took 6. Fearless took 7. Taylor Swift took 61. 1989 hit 2m in 3 weeks...
