    • I finally got around to looking at Nielsen's mid-year report. Taylor comes in at #4 on the top genre artists in pop with 916,000 units moved so far this year (album + TEA + on-demand audio SEA). That does include activity from the first two singles off Lover, but that's not really such a huge amount. Considering she hasn't released an album in over a year and a half, that means her catalogue almost on its own is collectively is keeping her at the top of the game. The report does not say where she ranks overall in artists, but the #10 artist has 1,082,000 total equivalent album consumption, meaning she's not so far off from the top 10 artists of the year. Lover, of course, will easily put her in the top 10 artists, and even with middling performances from the first two singles could put her at #1 in artists pretty quickly (currently Ariana Grande with 2,270,000).

2008’s Fearless is third on 609,000.
Taylor's most recent album Reputation is fourth, on 378,000.

                                                  NOTE:
Style is Taylor’s tenth biggest single in the UK, with 515,000 combined sales, split between 303,000 downloads and 23.7m streams.
This gives a streaming equivalent ratio of 111.79.

Shake It Off with 1.6 million combined sales in the UK, made up of 987,000 downloads and 72.9 million streams.
This gives a streaming equivalent ratio of 118.9.

Why are these ratios not exactly 100:1?

                                                  • ^ Found the answer. From 29 June 2018 it's a ratio of 100:1 (for premium streams) and 600:1 (for ad-funded streams).

Her Top 100 biggest tracks have amounted to 17 million sales (when physical, downloads and streaming equivalent sales are combined. She’s managed to rack up over 550 million plays across her singles alone.
She’s no slouch when it comes to albums either; shifting some 3.34 million across her five releases in the UK.
The article says she has shifted 3.34 million across five releases, not six. Is this a typo, or are they not including her debut album? The figures they gave for her top four selling albums total 2.93 million, which means 410,000 albums not accounted for. That can't all be Speak Now, or they would've put it in the article (plus it would be platinum, but it's not). I think this must mean her debut and Speak Now are roughly around 200,000 each. Anyone know? Both are certified gold for 100,000 copies.

I think her debut album was never officially released in the UK and Europe.

How could the album be certified gold if it was never released?
