Taylor's "Back To December" is the #1 video on all of YouTube, with over 915,000 views in the first 24 hrs! Link: http://tinyurl.com/6bmo2xv
Red took 5 weeks to hit 2m in US sales. Speak Now took 6. Fearless took 7. Taylor Swift took 61. 1989 hit 2m in 3 weeks...
I think Taylor chose Back To December as the second single 'cause it was the best-selling and highest charting promo single (beating Speak Now and Mean). Also, there was a lot of buzz surrounding it since it's supposedly about her failed relationship with Taylor Lautner. So, in that, Back To December was the right second single.
For her third single, I really really want Better Than Revenge. It's just so good! It needs to be released as a single. After which the fourth single could be Haunted and Speak now could be the fifth.

I think the 3rd one will be Speak Now and the fourth one will be Sparks Fly. Better Than Revenge is good but I don't know; it sounds a bit like Misery Business and she has better songs on the album, and sound more 'like her'.
I think Taylor chose Back To December as the second single 'cause it was the best-selling and highest charting promo single (beating Speak Now and Mean).
For example on Rated R of Rihanna, "Hard" was the highest selling single during the week of release of the album but Rude Boy was her biggest Hit.
I hope she won t do the same strategy with Sparks fly because it will follow BTD success imo.
I see Speak Now as the best choice for a third single
The yuppies networking, the panic, the vomit, the panic, the vomit, God loves his children, God loves his children...yeah.
i think Better than Revenge could do well in Europe. it's the least country-sounding song on Speak Now so that could help her have a big hit there.
i think haunted has the best chance of success in europe. and speak now in the uk has a bit of a chance. she just hasn't estabilished herself in the uk. she had some succes with love story but she's no gaga or katy perry. she's too clean we love controversy and outrageous stuff....

oh yeah that too! but if she releases Haunted, she should make an entirely different music video for it. i didn't really like the promo video she made before Halloween.
i think as long as she's being billed as a "country artist", she's never gonna be massive in Europe. cause notwithstanding Taylor's laudable efforts, country music remains a hard sell outside America.
but i'm happy that Taylor has already become the most successful country crossover artist since the great Shania Twain. Carrie Underwood never experienced success in Europe and Asia, so seeing Taylor enjoying some success in other territories, she must be doing something right. i'm proud of her!

i completely agree, i just think she needs to completely differentiate from stereotypical country music like Shania did. come on over sounds pop because overall the album is country but with pop influences, rock, pop, regae electro, even irish music... i think on her next album she estabilished herself enough and should really take some risks. because i understand that if she did the same with speak now it would not be as successfull or maybe it could have been more succesful wordlwide with better singles success.
Either way fearless only sold so much because of the singles success and the promo of the album.
one of my friends said she doesn't like Taylor music because its all about boys. perhaps taylor should look at an "empowerment song" a la single ladies, independant woman, Man! i feel like a woman/before he cheats etc... if kesha can go no1 with a videophone rehash than taylor can get to number one easily. the timing, the music it all has to fit.
What Taylor Swift s album is "I d lie" from ?
amazing song
Before she was successful, Taylor used to sing her new songs in public where people could easily record and put onto youtube. "I'd lie" has a studio demo, and darkbluetennessee speculates it was originally supposed to be on Taylor's debut album.
"I'd Lie (S)- A long-time, well known fan favorite. Not expected to ever be officially released due to certain reasons. But it doesn't matter, because everybody already has a copy of this great song."
"2006 AOL Just Stopping By- Tim McGraw, I'd Lie, Picture To Burn (all solo acoustic). HQ. Clearly I'd Lie was originally supposed to be released on the first album, as it was performed once again on the pre-first album promotional tour.
2006 (July 19) Studio C Live Acoustic- I'd Lie, Tim McGraw (both solo acoustic). MQ. Basically the first two webstream sourced audio tracks to ever surface as Taylor began her pre-first album promotional tour.
2006 (June 30) WYCD 99.5 Detroit- I'd Lie, Welcome Back Song for Grunwald, Teardrops on My Guitar (later date). MQ. Grunwald's song is the first of two songs which Taylor wrote for a radio station. It was combined with a performance of I'd Lie, making for a very unique radio station appearance. Teardrops on My Guitar was performed on the same radio station at a later date."

one of her best songs imo

Speak Now is definitely single material but I just don't see it achieving the success that Better Than Revenge could. That being said, I can see it outperforming Back To December.

Sparks Fly is nice, but I think Haunted is even better.
or enchanted? please don't be in love with someone else
i think the songs on this album are too "feminine" to have the uber smash succes of fearless singles... they are too passive and thats something she should look into her next album.

one of her best songs imo
I always go to that website! I just don't like the fact that this person has a lot of her rare demos all to himself, that's selfish but I'll eventually get over it. Some of the songs from the list are on YouTube. Brought up that way was on YouTube last December but they took it out. It was a song that was very mature, not about boys, and should be on her next album or the Platinum Edition of SN if she releases one which I doubt she will b/c theres already a deluxe edition. IMO she could've done way better with the Deluxe Edition but since it's Taylor I still love it.

Come on over was mixed for the release in europe. We (europe) had the pop-version for example of That Don't Impress Me Much. The USA version sounds differently. Search on Youtube and you'll find the difference. Maybe a idea for Taylor to also do so, though I already find her music more pop than country. But I haven't heard her albums, only the singles.
. But I haven't heard her albums, only the singles.
Well then you are missing out on A LOT! If you've only heard the singles, let me give you some other songs to listen to. FYI she has no fillers so it'll all be good material.
From her debut:
Mary's Song (Oh my, my my)
I'm Only Me When I'm With You
A Place In This World
Tied Together With a Smile
Cold As You
From Fearless
All of them but if you want specific tracks:
Jump Then Fall
Untouchable
Breathe
You're Not Sorry
The way I Loved You
Forever & Always
This album didn't win Album Of The Year for no reason.
From Speak Now
So far she's only released 2 singles here are other good songs:
Sparks Fly
Speak Now
Dear John (Masterpiece)
Enchanted
Better Than Revenge
Haunted
Just to name a few, they are all good songs though, you should buy her albums. You WON'T be dissapointed.

i think you made a mistake editing your quote. that's not my post that you quoted. haha yes i do have every album she has released and true enough. her albums are all filler-free. i especially love her vocals on Dear John and it's one of her best EVER. as much as i want it to be a single, i don't think it's as radio friendly as the other tracks off Speak Now.

Sorry I tried to quote the person who said it, I guess I deleted the wrong name. My bad. IDK how to correct it. Never mind I corrected it, hopefully with the right name this time. Also BTD is climbing iTunes again! About 2 days ago it was at no. 32, 1 hour ago it was at no. 26, now it's at no. 24! Mine is also climbing. It was at #80, then #72, now it's a# 70. The video currently has 3.4 million views. 200k more than it had about two hours ago. AMAZING!
