No surprise, almost all 80s / 90s ladies have bad statistics on their latest albums. Apart from Shakira's last album, no album has crossed 400-500m of streams, which is a bomb.

According to who? Liberation and its singles bombed just as hard in the UK. She's not doing any better over there.

You trying to lump those albums together is something else. 300 million streams is not the same as 100 million. Also, Caution outsold Liberation in the US and had more longevity, so that's not entirely true. Check your facts next time.

The gag is that you're comparing her to Mariah and Madonna, and conveniently ignoring the fact they're both 30+ years into their careers. You're desperate to make it seem like Xtina is on the same level as her peers, when in reality she is leages below them, even at their lowest points.

All these albums are commercial bombs that spent one week in the top 10, although even some of these albums didn't make it to the top 10. Even Madonna’s last album “Madame X” (who is 62 years old and has been for many decades in the industry) got more streams than “Liberation”.

“Liberation” didn’t do good in any sense and the UK charts already include streaming. It’s not likely that it moved 20K units

I am aware that the UK charts include streaming. An album can accumulate decent streams and therefore sales, week on week years after they have been released and never appear on the chart. Old albums and singles get recertified all the time these days because of repeat streaming.

I was just wondering how Lib does on streaming as I don't really follow such numbers.

This is a stupid conversation, truth is I don't know how much Liberation has sold in the UK, I said Head Above Water was 10k because that's what the chart run indicated, someone came back with some stats that made it seem like it sold up to 20k, Liberation had a very similar chart run so i assumed it would be about the same, MrLeonix you are seriously crying over 5k in sale, grow up.

Instinct all those albums had terrible chart runs, 2-44-90?-out is hardly impressive and Caution was 40-OUT, Avril wasn't much better, stop making it seem like Christina is doing the worse than everyone else in music cause it's simply not true.

Feel free to add others, the only one from the 90s/early 00s doing anything is Pink.

You can say what you want but they are all doing about the same and that's not me "shading" anyone, those are chart runs and no matter what the peak is, 2-3 weeks in a chart is a flop in that country.

Back to Basics, 5m copies worldwide, despite being more expensive than average album 2x (the album was a two-disc). Candyman - her biggest song in Australia. Hurt - her biggest ballad in Europe (outside the UK, maybe). The biggest women's tour in 2007. All the singles stream almost 70m on Spotify, this shows that the album didn't have just a one single hit. Hurt / Candyman are her one of the biggest songs on Youtube. 3rd biggest performance at the Grammy all time + Grammy for ANOM. A very solid era. Personally, my favorite Xtina album. All the best B2B!

These numbers also do not include all of her (even) solo songs because they're not on her side, so it's not worth focusing on that data. Chartmasters is incomplete.

“Back To Basics” sold 1,7m - 1,8m in USA, and about 1,3m - 1,4m (max) in Europe (+570K in UK) ... That gives a total of 3m - 3,2m between USA and Europe, adding Canada and Oceania the album can be boosted to 3,5million.

Other than that, the album didn’t have major success in Asia (a Gold cert in Japan - 100K and minor sales everywhere else) and the album quite flopped in Latin America.

5million is way too high for the album and unofficial PR articles won’t match IFPI official reports , certifications and chart-runs. The album is currently at 4million on chartmasters and that seems pretty accurate.

Also official reports from Billboard Boxscores and Pollstar reveal that the tour didn’t even cross $50million in grossing (with most of it’s dates reported). $100million is out of question.

Her own record label confirmed "Back to Basics" sold 3.7 million as of 2008. And that's much more reliable than a random book....
