Libby did better in all respects than the latest Mariah album.
No surprise, almost all 80s / 90s ladies have bad statistics on their latest albums. Apart from Shakira's last album, no album has crossed 400-500m of streams, which is a bomb.
You trying to lump those albums together is something else. 300 million streams is not the same as 100 million. Also, Caution outsold Liberation in the US and had more longevity, so that's not entirely true. Check your facts next time.

^ you were still missing here, britney spears stan.
100m or 300m is still a big bomb on Spotify.
Outside the US, Caution has not made her top 10 or even top 20 debut anywhere, lol. Both albums have sold over 100k pure sales in the US where some albums only sold 150k at a much better time. All flops.

Pure sales are irrelevant now tho ... SPS total units is what matters these days.Rock lives forever: Led Zeppelin . Metallica . Pink Floyd . Nirvana . Radiohead . Pearl Jam . Oasis . Iron Maiden . Nine Inch Nails
Approved Popstars: Michael Jackson . Madonna . Britney Spears . Beyoncé . Rihanna

So how on earth did Caution do better than Liberation in the US, where it did worse on all platforms?
-
I wasn’t the one who talked about “Caution” though. So don’t blame it on me.
And also I don’t know why you’re trying to spin this into Mariah or other divas albums when the topic was about Liberation’s estimations in UK and the rest has nothing to do with Xtina’s performance in UK.
-
and I don't know what you guys are doing in this topic where we all know you don't like X.
and arguing about 5k sales is pathetic

EVERYTHING IS LOVE - 400,508,419
Glory - 313,458,235
Head Above Water - 241,714,606
Liberation - 135,580,230
Clearly, all of these albums underperformed. But there's underperforming and then there's bombing. So maybe cut the comparisons because they're not doing you any favors.

All these albums are commercial bombs that spent one week in the top 10, although even some of these albums didn't make it to the top 10. There are worse and better flops, but all these albums are forgotten and without longevity. and you're seriously bidding, who hit the minor flop? seriously? You always put X in the worst light, everyone knows it, but your trolling doesn't work, so stop it. go ahead and get excited about the stats from 20 years ago
-
What's worse? Dropping to #12 in your second week or dropping all the way down to #98? It's laughable that you're constantly making up excuses and bringing up other divas instead of facing the truth. Out of these albums, Liberation was by far the biggest flop. Considering you're actively posting stats from a 10 year old movie, maybe you should take your own advice.
-
there is a difference between writing new news for 10 years' movie and 20 years writing about the same

“Liberation” didn’t do good in any sense and the UK charts already include streaming. It’s not likely that it moved 20K units
I was just wondering how Lib does on streaming as I don't really follow such numbers.

According to chartdata Liberation had sold WW ( pure plus SPS) 264,000 on Sept 1 2018.

This is a stupid conversation, truth is I don't know how much Liberation has sold in the UK, I said Head Above Water was 10k because that's what the chart run indicated, someone came back with some stats that made it seem like it sold up to 20k, Liberation had a very similar chart run so i assumed it would be about the same, MrLeonix you are seriously crying over 5k in sale, grow up.
Instinct all those albums had terrible chart runs, 2-44-90?-out is hardly impressive and Caution was 40-OUT, Avril wasn't much better, stop making it seem like Christina is doing the worse than everyone else in music cause it's simply not true.
MOVE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thing is i'm not trying to shade anyone, or "be cute" as you're trying to make happen, i didn't put anyone down, these artists are doing about the same in the UK, which they are, look at their chart runs
Liberation - 17-95-OUT
Caution - 40-OUT
Head Above Water - 10-53-OUT
Glory - 2-41-94-OUT
Feel free to add others, the only one from the 90s/early 00s doing anything is Pink.
You can say what you want but they are all doing about the same and that's not me "shading" anyone, those are chart runs and no matter what the peak is, 2-3 weeks in a chart is a flop in that country.

Back to Basics, 5m copies worldwide, despite being more expensive than average album 2x (the album was a two-disc). Candyman - her biggest song in Australia. Hurt - her biggest ballad in Europe (outside the UK, maybe). The biggest women's tour in 2007. All the singles stream almost 70m on Spotify, this shows that the album didn't have just a one single hit. Hurt / Candyman are her one of the biggest songs on Youtube. 3rd biggest performance at the Grammy all time + Grammy for ANOM. A very solid era. Personally, my favorite Xtina album. All the best B2B!Last edited by likeidogoldlink; Wed August 12, 2020, 20:14.Xtina/Snoh Aalegra/Rihanna/Lauren Hill/Rosalía/Nina Simone/Patti Smith/Kali Uchis

“Back To Basics” sold 1,7m - 1,8m in USA, and about 1,3m - 1,4m (max) in Europe (+570K in UK) ... That gives a total of 3m - 3,2m between USA and Europe, adding Canada and Oceania the album can be boosted to 3,5million.
Other than that, the album didn’t have major success in Asia (a Gold cert in Japan - 100K and minor sales everywhere else) and the album quite flopped in Latin America.
5million is way too high for the album and unofficial PR articles won’t match IFPI official reports , certifications and chart-runs. The album is currently at 4million on chartmasters and that seems pretty accurate.
Also official reports from Billboard Boxscores and Pollstar reveal that the tour didn’t even cross $50million in grossing (with most of it’s dates reported). $100million is out of question.Last edited by MrLeonix; Wed August 12, 2020, 20:42.Rock lives forever: Led Zeppelin . Her own record label confirmed "Back to Basics" sold 3.7 million as of 2008. And that's much more reliable than a random book....
1.3 million sold since 2008? That's just as much as "Bionic" + "Lotus" combined. Come on now.

North America: $30.5 million (all dates reported)
Europe: $13.1 million (all dates reported)
Oceania: $4.3 million (4/9 dates reported - $9 million est. total)
Asia: no dates reported
= $48.1 million on reported dates | $52.6 million including $9 million in Oceania.
It means that she grossed $37.4 million in 10 shows in the asian continent alone. And of course she didn't lol
$60 million total is a way more accurate number. And literally no one uses numbers with inflation.
