                          NEW RELEASES: CHANGES UNDERWAY

Justin Bieber's Changes is en route to a big #1 bow—likely to be the biggest of 2020 to date—while rapper A Boogie With a Hoodie also debuts with six figures. For a rock album, Tame Impala's buzzing new set is punching above its weight in the streaming world.

Justin Bieber (RBMG/Def Jam) 270-320k total activity, 185-210k albums
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (Atlantic) 110-130k, 1-3k
                          Tame Impala (Interscope) 80-90k, 50-60k
                          MONSTA X (Epic) 38-47k, 35-43k
                          $uicideBoy$ (G59) 17-21k, 1-2k

                          • ^ Hmm... these are good numbers for 2020, but am I the only one who expected (way) more? He also has a ticket bundle, hasn't he? And considering Harry Styles' "Fine Line" debuted with 478k SPS / 393k pure sales I thought Justin may do something similar...

                              • 'Purpose' definitely profited from its very popular 3 singles. This time, 'Yummy' was not as big as a lead single and the album's initial reception was rather lukewarm thus far. Considering this, I already expected the worst and that didn't happen.
We need to keep in mind that he already released an R&B record, which sold so little that the label limited it to compilation status in order to make its chart performance look less ridiculous. He's clearly doing this for personal reasons, otherwise he'd not be the smartest to think that an R&B album is what the people want to hear from him.

                                • His numbers are fine, remember he has not a “What do you mean” and “Sorry” as first 2 singles to push the album sales.

Still, this is the streaming era and his final numbers will be HUGE in a couple of years. Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music keep growing like crazy and I’m sure this album will have billions of streams overall.

10 songs inside the WW top, it looks pretty decent to me.

                                  • ^He released a more Urban leaning album just to hop on another trend. He has featured some of the biggest streaming forces at the moment. I wouldn't call that personal reasons. His last chart performances gave away his descreasing popularity.
That said the numbers are still quite good. Him having a ticket bundle on top definitely makes it less impressive though. How is the tour doin'?

                                        • Very underwhelming sales! Didn't expect him to have his Man of the Woods era with this album, and it's even going to open lower than that JT album.

                                              • He just killed his career with Yummy, Intentions couldnt save the era, the album finalized the death to this artistry like comeon why release an album like this? Probably the most generic album ive heard inawhile. He may not recover from this and the way hes been acting psychologically as well he needs to.mature in himself and sound.
