Well nobody is saying that YouTube views are equivalent to sales. It’s still a powerful promotional tool and integral to establishing a veteran act’s legacy.

And yet the younger generation cannot easily find her videos! They get taken down and re-uploaded- millions and millions of views down the drain. Fan uploads of her videos also don’t get recommended with other official videos from the same era... She’s at a clear disadvantage on a platform that remains an integral way that millions of people consume music globally.

YouTube streams count towards certifications. SOME of her biggest hits were FINALLY uploaded to YouTube (USA) last year. While one (IF NOT) her biggest hit "Together Again" is still unavailable.

The fact that "That's the Way Love Goes" has "sold" 1.2 million in the digital era while it's music video was FINALLY added just a few months ago says a lot!

Youtube streams and views count towards record sales this is a big reason Janet numbers are low and the fact she is the reason YouTube was even created and she getting 0 royalties from another thing but as far her videos concerned little by little her videos being unblocked and still blocked in multiple countries music videos are to promote records to make the songs sell but there is absolutely no reason half of Janet Jackson videography still blocked when we found out why they been block they stayed block this young generation are getting to know and learning who Janet Jackson is but they can't even find all her videos if she had all her videos available her music would be getting a big surge.

Yes, SPS is only digital downloads and streaming. You add the physical sales to get the true units. Hopefully TTWLG passes 3M in the next couple of years.

So No Sleeep is 3,000 units away from being eligible for Gold by the RIAA that's amazing cause I really believed that song was slept on (no pun intended) and being the Unbreakable album already at least on it's way to be eligible for a Gold certification for the RIAA it makes sense for at least one song off a album to be almost eligible for a certification.
