The fact that only one album achieved a million streams this week is really bad, right?

For an artist of her caliber, yes. There's a lot we can balme but ultimately she has made improvements.

I think the majority of people streaming Janet are people who grew up with her. The rest are those who come across Together Again, All For You and That's The Way Love Goes on playlists or organically check out her catalog after artists reference and sample her music. Most of her hits have abysmal playlisting and she has has never had a song go viral (unlike Mariah and Madonna which have multiple times). She also hasn't put out a new album since 2015. There's literally nothing attracting a new audience.

Even when she promotes herself it's places consumed by an audience who already know her music (ie. having her documentary on Lifetime). And a lot of the efforts feel quite late. She should've had a Dancing With The Stars night when the show had good ratings. Not in 2021. Her music videos should've been available on YouTube for a decade now. And more work still needs to be done.

The Best Things In Life Are Free (Classic Club version) is one of her most shazamed songs and it's still unavailable on streaming in 2023. That song is arguably her biggest airplay hit in the UK and Australia (2 of the world's Top 10 biggest music markets).

she released 4 albums through A&M who used music clubs. I don't know how they look up sales but I'm sure it is a task. You'd think her Virgin-current albums would have been updated by now.

I don't think they'll include the music club sales but maybe I'm mistaking the RIAA for Soundscan. It's understandable that they have to go through the sales for the A&M albums but the Virgin ones should've BEEN updated, you're absolutely right.

Wow, outside of Africa(where numbers are low overall but at least she's in third place), her lowest numbers are in Asia. She needs to schedule a tour there when she releases Black Diamond by 2030.

Most of Janet's videos on YouTube have only been unblocked/uploaded within the past few years, so it's understandable why numbers are so low (with the exception of South Africa). But I expected Europe to be on 800,000 at least.

South Africa is the only country where Janet has sold more copies than Whitney, Celine, Mariah & Madonna.

I swear the Janet vs. Madonna wars will never cease to exist all this back and forth of who outselling who and who made more money between them and who tour tickets quickly sell out is annoying for almost 40 years before some of us was even born their fans won't just end the rivalries if it's not Madonna vs Janet it's Madonna vs. Mariah I wish Madonna in particular mention Janet in a interview cause I feel that's the only way for each fan bases to stop harassing each other a little bit I just wish they collaborated actually.

Maybe I already mentioned it but these videos have yet to be uploaded on Janet's main YouTube page:

• Dream Street (1984) - but knowing Janet, she probably rather not remember it existed since it came off her most unpopular album
• Alright - original mini-movie version and the short version with the remixed rendition (1990) - this is just befuddling me!
• The Best Things in Life are Free with Luther (1992) - though neither of the artists were on the video, it still needs to be uploaded.
• Runaway (1995) - again, another thing that is befuddling me. I have no idea of Janet's YouTube history prior to Vevo but I imagine it was uploaded and then blocked everywhere so it was deleted and Team Janet just let it be gathered by the cobwebs.
• I Get Lonely - the BLACKstreet remix edition (1998) - I mean if she could upload the Deeper Mix of Together Again, she could upload this but I'll wait. I'm not as fond of the remix but I know many folks who do.
• All Nite (Don't Stop) (2004) - just the video from the fan poster (JJ World) is up but not on Janet's page.
