Rhythm Nation 1814 was certified 6x platinum, but has also sold 2.5 million copies via BMG club sales and in the Soundscan era = 8.5 million sales?
janet. has sold 7,010,000 according to Soundscan and 860,000 through BMG club sales = roughly 7.9 million sales?
Wow,Janet is like the most undercertified artist ever.

I will love to see RN 1814 certified 9Xplatinum this year and who knows maybe in the future a remasterization could give her the diamond certification she deserves for this amazing album. But that's the way I like it baby I don't want to live forever

^ Thank you!
This album would have had quite a long chart run if the old rules still applied where only current albums could chart.
I wonder if sales will increase slightly over the next few weeks, with the movie being released. It's already seems to be going up!

It's BMG sales are 1.1 million total, not just in the Soundscan era.
That's 7.5 million in known sales. The known sales of "janet" are 7.9 million (when record club sales at Columbia House were at an all-time high) "Control" at 6.4 million.

Guess it's the peak so far. Promotion for the film is helping.

Great at least itŽs charting i thought the song wouldnŽt even get a spin or an I tunes rank
Maybe the movie release, the video and some performance will make this song to peak higher. Now that Janet is not releasing an album the europe tour will be cancell??? because Janet will be involved in a new movie role..But that's the way I like it baby I don't want to live forever

I heard on the US nationally syndicated "Rickey Smiley Show" that Janet wasn't recording anymore after this... no more albums. Has anyone heard this? Is there any source to confirm if it's true or not???
I would be so HURT if one of pop's legends stops and does movies only! She is an icon and needs to remain so in music!I was waiting for Bey to drop so she could show that T&A arent the only ones smashing album SALES!!!
