Specifically if an album received a certification by the end of the 90s/early 2000s when music clubs had fallen out of popularity, we can assume most club sales were accounted for and already included in a cert. That's why those Whitney, Mariah and Celine albums BadMan125 mentioned did not have a big jump after a "long time". They didn't have missing clubs sales to begin with.
Yep and it could be that Janet might be missing hers. That could be a good possibility because these albums SHOULD'VE been re-certified so I just don't get it besides Janet being meh about it. I like to see her brag "yeah I'm the second best-selling black female albums artist after Whitney" or something to that effect. But she won't give us that satisfaction. But the reason Whitney, Mariah and Celine's sales are what they are versus what Soundscan had them is because they were able to add their club sales. Janet was just the only one that didn't.

They are and I know other fans are gonna jump on you about why they don't care because "YouTube views are slowing down". Still, she's getting much less views than virtually all of her peers from her era. Now partially it's her labels' fault for not caring much to fix the blocking situation earlier (same with them holding out from putting the music on her Spotify page), but it's also her team's fault cause Janet should have her clips viewed a million times daily too and she's not (same with her Spotify and likely Apple Music, Pandora and Tidal).

As I said, this is Janet Jackson, ya dig? At one point, it did finally seem like she was trying to catch up (I think at one point last year, she actually got up to over 300k views but then it dropped once the "viral moment" was over).

The additions of Runaway and Dream Street probably won't do much to add to her view count either. But it is what it is, I guess.

Haha no, you see it appears that pop is far from popular in South Africa. I mean take Madonna for example, Johannesburg is completely absent from her Top cities, the lowest among Top cities being Porto Alegre (44,647).

Janet on the other hand has 38,712 listeners in Johannesburg, and an additional 22,748 in Cape Town. Which puts Madonna to absolute shame.

                      • Janet only usually get a surge in views or sales if it's a special event or anniversary of her or her birthday it's sad but we should be use to it by now I wish few of her songs went viral I remember Rhythm Nation, That's The Way Love Goes and Would You Mind went viral and they shot up in monthly listeners and views.

Sao Paulo may have taken a slide, but Rio de Janeiro recently set a new peak (31,592). Quezon City & Berlin are currently pushing for a new peak, hopefully both will get there.

Just 11 more days until the tour starts!! Fingers crossed that Janet can surpass her peak of 6,116,879 which was set on February 25, of last year. She's currently on 5,905,130 therefore it's a big ask. But I have faith.

Janet on the other hand has 38,712 listeners in Johannesburg, and an additional 22,748 in Cape Town. Which puts Madonna to absolute shame.
Interesting. I don't think Madonna was a strong mover in SA though so it's not a big get.

Janet barely acknowledges her own country so what makes anyone think she'll do the same at other countries. Only the UK would automatically re-certify her.

Total: 455,000 based off ARIA certifications.

UPDATE: Based off combined albums (1.26 million) and singles, Janet sold a total of 1,715,000 copies. Adding in video sales, that's 1,745,000. Not too many of her singles sold well there. No idea what her best-selling single in Australia since she has four songs that each sold 70,000.

SECOND UPDATE: Album certifications were off (guess it was just a guess), but Janet sold 770k albums in Australia.

Okay, I re-checked and these sales are WAY off.

According to her actual ARIA certifications, this is what she really had:
                                            • Control - 35,000 (gold)
                                            • Rhythm Nation 1814 - 140,000 (2x platinum)
                                            • janet. - 140,000 (2x platinum)
                                            • Design of a Decade - 280,000 (4x platinum)
                                            • The Velvet Rope - 140,000 (2x platinum)
                                            • All for You - 35,000 (gold)
Judging on that, she's sold roughly 770,000, added to the 455,000 I counted for singles certs, she's at the 1.2 million (1,225,000) range. Adding in video sales, it's 1.255 million.
