I remember when Beyoncé had her certs updated and some of us were expecting higher certs for her her debut and IASF. I'm wondering if that will be the case here.

The good thing about Janet is none of her clubs sales from the 80s or 90s were included in her certifications for her biggest albums!
We already know "janet." and "Rhythm Nation" will at least be updated to 8 million with SPS.
We just don't have full numbers from Columbia House or BMG.Comment

"Janet Jackson" sold over 62k (1991-1999) Gold might be possible
"Control" has over 1 million (SPS) a 6 million cert will be in the bag, plus it was a strong club seller! 8 million seems very possible
"Rhythm Nation" has known sales of over 9 million. 6 million cert, 2 million sps, 1 million BMG. Diamond seems very likely.
"janet." people forget this album was certified for 5 million in just 7 months. Charted until May 1995. Only got one cert for 6 million in 1994 (in April) despite being the 8th biggest selling album of the year. Expecting 9-10 for this album as well.
"The Velvet Rope" should be x4p, I am curious if it will be x5p... How did Mariah get "Butterfly" to x5p?

I think so. It would be eligible for Latin 8XP or 9X Platinum. They should do that instead of regular. It won't go US Gold anytime soon.
