Originally posted by BojanOriginally posted by nymphoIt’s pretty simple, actually.
According to what it has been posted here today with Soundscan figures:
Unbreakable (album)
ALBUM SALES: 272,488
ALBUMS W/TEA 305,300
TEA= Track Equivalent Albums
305,300 - 272,488 = 32,812
Ratio for TEA is 1/10
328,212 tracks sold from Unbreakable.
So obviously “No Sleeep” sales cannot be 353k.
@Bojan, you (or the person who gave you the info), added the track total and the song total.
Digital Tracks and Digital Songs are different charts.
178,183 is the song total with all its versions.
(Which means 150k sold for the rest of the tracks on the album)
Probably the remix sold 4k copies and the J.Cole and solo version combined 174k.
I don't know if the mistake comes from your source, who assumed each figure belonged to those versions, maybe you did, or maybe from the way they're named in Soundscan database.
But, as I posted before, the total TEA for the album is 328k, so the mistake of you counting twice the No Sleeep sales is clear.
I believe and I appreciate all the other figures you posted, though. Amazing to have updates sales!

Which figure should we be using? The one with TEA?

Actually, for certifications, the figure that should be used is "ALBUMS W/TEA W/SEA ON-DEMAND", as RIAA covers TEA and audio and video SEA.
"No Sleeep" is confusing, but you're probably right.
So, with what we have right now, if neither of her under-certified albums was over-shipped (or sold more than we think), she could have 36.5 or 37 million certified units by RIAA. But it will be interesting to see "ALBUMS W/TEA W/SEA ON-DEMAND" for her older albums. Could "The Velvet Rope" be 4x Platinum?Gone.
