Don't forget most of the market wasn't even covered by SoundScan when "janet." was released. If I can remember I think I read in BB that 50-60% of the market was covered in 1993. Diamond is very possible. Also considering the album was last certified 11 months after it was released and it still stayed on the charts until 1995.

I think there is also like 1.4-1.6 million in Music Club sales for this album which is pretty cool as well.
I think it is eligible for 5x-Platinum

When you're in the club, you go to the counter, order gin tonic and a copy of janet. This was popular in the lat 80s and 90s. Not so much today.

Both janet. and Rhythm Nation are serious contenders for a Diamond record. They probably sold more copies and were over-shipped as well, as any huge seller back then.

Rhythm Nation, Design of a Decade and The Velvet Rope were also available in Columbia House. I guess Control as well, I just couldn't find it.

                                        • DOAD hit the music clubs at their popularity. They featured it in all of their ads. Which explains why it pushed so much.

Rhythm Nation, Design of a Decade and The Velvet Rope were also available in Columbia House. I guess Control as well, I just couldn't find it.
TVR was available in Columbia? That's news to me as I often read that only her A&M releases were available through Columbia which included Control.

Both janet. and Rhythm Nation are serious contenders for a Diamond record. They probably sold more copies and were over-shipped as well, as any huge seller back then.

I know the Virgin titles were "exclusives" but you could only buy them at full price.
