        • Her Metamorphosis numbers have been pretty great considering she hasn't done ANY promo for these shows at all.

It's pretty interesting how she hasn't promoted SOTW or Metamorphosis but it still sold pretty well. If only she actually went out there and did big-style promo, she'd probably be closer to selling out.

          • What kind of a promo to be exact are you talking about? Other acts don't do much more promo for the tour either. Especially Vegas stuff. They just announce it and it gets carried over to music related outlets and that's it. They post on socials about it a few more times. I don't see what she didn't do and others did.

            • She's not promoting a new album (Bruno was coming off of many hits singles), Lady Gaga did lots of press during ASIB promoting Vegas as well. Janet hasn't done any US TV with the exception of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, she isn't coming off of any successful projects, Made for Now was over a year ago. Tickets are selling based off her name and not that bad at all.

              • Did anyone realize had Billboard counted R&B points before 1998 into the Hot 100 Janet would more than likely have 24 consecutive Top 10 hits had "The Pleasure Principle" gone top 10 since it was also a #1 R&B hit, and MAYBE even 24 consecutive top 5 hits since most of her Top 10 hits were also top 5 (excluding "Because of Love" #10 and" You Want This" #8) assuming there were enough points to push BOL, TPP, YWT top 5.

So sad to see what the Super Bowl did to her hit-making career.

                  • Today in 2000, Janet Jackson became the first artist to notch Hot 100 No. 1s in the '80s, '90s, and '00s with "Doesn't Really Matter." In 2007, Billboard ranked it the sixty-first most successful song by a female artist in the chart's history and it received the Gold Disc Award for Top Selling Song of the Year by a foreign artist in Japan.

After a brisk run at Las Vegas’ Park Theater, Janet Jackson impacts the Hot Tours tally dated Aug. 31.

Her Metamorphosis residency played its second and final leg from July 24 through Aug. 17, adding $8.9 million to its total gross, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. Altogether, the 2019 residency grossed $13 million and sold 76,813 tickets.

Metamorphosis positions Ms. Jackson in the middle of a career upswing, averaging $722,000 and over 4,000 tickets per night. Her 2011 Number Ones Tour marked the quietest trek of her career, playing theaters around the U.S. after several arena tours in the 1990s and early 2000s. Since then, she has adjusted ticket prices and returned to sold out arena and amphitheaters. Jackson’s Vegas shows further improve upon the 2015 Unbreakable Tour ($626,000/night) and 2017-19 State of the World Tour ($559,000/night), up from 2011’s $450,000 average.

That pacing places the legendary singer (and dancer, songwriter, producer, and actress) among the biggest Vegas performers of this decade, ahead of Celine Dion’s $704,000 opening pace (2011), Britney Spears’ $679,000 (2013) and the Backstreet Boys’ $593,000 (2017). Metamorphosis only ran for 18 dates, making it significantly less forceful run than Dion’s 427 and Spears’ 248, but sets Jackson up well for a healthy run of upcoming fall dates in Australia (Nov. 8-17) and Hawaii (Nov. 20-21).

Jackson has achieved seven No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and ten No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 throughout her four-decade career. She bulldozed through the 1980s and 90s, eventually named Billboard’s No. 2 artist of the 90s, and the Billboard Hot 100’s No. 7 artist of all time.

                                      • It's been estimated that each of seven Billboard Hot 100 top-five singles from "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814" has sold at least million physical copies worldwide. It seems it's a feat that no other album by any musician, ever reached.

In combination with singles and videos, the album has sold approximately 23 million records.

Great question! The album was top ten in most countries (seems 23 according to Wiki). 1 million wouldn't be so shocking between the rest of the world since it did almost 700k from 3 countries.
