      • Rises 2 spots on Global Spotify with a small increase. There's still 3 BTS album cuts above it outside of Dynamite and Life Goes On.

        Now the fun begins....

In the US, it has now wiggled it's way into the Top 10 with an impressive increase on Sunday. It's the earliest it's been inside the Top 10, and a whole 7 days earlier than in 2019 where it got there on the 29th November.

In the UK, who would've anticipated this but it's now #2, and just 25k streams below Positions. It acually dropped slightly on Sun but clearly all the other songs dropped harder. Also hot on its heels is Last Christmas which smashed into the Top 3 and just 24k behind AIWFCIY. Clearly, the Brits are enjoying Christmas music very much.

        • Mariah Carey & Brenda Lee Holiday Hits Are Back on the Hot 100

"All I Want for Christmas Is You" & "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" re-enter at Nos. 29 & 43, respectively.

Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" returns to the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time since it spent its maiden three weeks at No. 1 last holiday season. The carol, originally released in 1994, re-enters the chart (dated Nov. 28) at No. 29.

Plus, Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" revisits the Hot 100 at No. 43. The 1958 classic reached a No. 2 best last holiday season.

Carey's seasonal anthem returns with 11.7 million U.S. streams (up 50%) and 4,000 sold (up 54%) in the week ending Nov. 19, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, as well as 15.7 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 51%) in the week ending Nov. 22, as stations continue to decorate their playlists with holiday music.

Lee's standard dashes back to the Hot 100 with 8.8 million streams (up 79%) and 7,000 sold (up 790%), along with 13.2 million airplay impressions (up 45%). (The song's profile was aided by Justin Bieber's new Amazon Music-exclusive version, released Nov. 12.)

In December 2017, Carey's "Christmas" hit the Hot 100's top 10 for the first time, while last year it ascended to the summit, becoming the second holiday hit ever to reign, after "The Chipmunk Song," by The Chipmunks with David Seville, spent four weeks at No. 1 beginning in December 1958. Carey claimed her 19th Hot 100 No. 1, as she extended her mark for the most among soloists and moved to within one of The Beatles' overall record 20.

As "Christmas" dominated for three weeks on the charts dated Dec. 21, 2019, through Jan. 4, 2020, Carey also became the first artist to have ranked at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in four distinct decades (the 1990s, 2000s, '10s and '20s).

(Carey recounted the feats in her new memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, released Sept. 29. "I woke up to the Billboard headline: 'Wish Come True: Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' Hits No. 1 on Hot 100 After 25-Year Wait.' Wait. What?!," she marvels in the book. "The Lambs made it happen again!")

Carey and Lee's songs are set to surge again throughout the holidays and be joined on the Hot 100 by other Yuletide classics. On the Jan. 4, 2020, chart (which reflected the apex of 2019-20 Christmas music tracking), holiday hits held the top four spots simultaneously for the first time in the chart's history, as, following Carey and Lee's titles at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, Bobby Helms' "Jingle Bell Rock" ranked at No. 3 and Burl Ives' "A Holly Jolly Christmas" placed at No. 4.

A record five holiday songs infused the Hot 100's top 10 simultaneously that week, as they were joined, at No. 7, by Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

              • It's interesting to me that airplay is significantly higher this year, normally it lags behind!

                • I THINK it's on par.

We don't have figures for the corresponding week from 2019 to compare accurately.

Well, we have an indication. The 26.2 million airplay figure for Dec 3 was up 64% on the previous week.
Streaming was up 35%, and sales up 41%.

I guess I can do some maths

                  2019 - Nov 26
                  Hot 100 - #31
                  Streaming - 17.5 million
                  Sales - 4,255
                  Airplay - 15.9 million

Does that look right to anyone?

                      • Mariah's Massive Merriest Milestones

29-30-31...: AIWFCIY's debut this season on the Hot 100 at #29 gives the song its 31st week in the top 30, and its 36th in the top 40. Why is that significant?

We Break Records Together: AIWFCIY has finally surpassed two records set by the massive We Belong Together, and becomes Mariah's longest charting song in both the Billboard Hot 100 top 30 and top 40, surpassing WBT's 30 weeks and 35 weeks respectively, having tied them last season. These are the first records AIWFCIY has gained for weeks on the chart.

...and everyone is singing: As AIWFCIY begins its chart journey this year, it will continue to match and break some outstanding Mariah chart records, which will be covered in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.

Nice to match you: With its entry at #29, AIWFCIY matches its 2018 performance where it also debuted at #29 that season, in the same week as this. That is the highest the song has charted this early in a season. Last year in the week corresponding to this, it was #31.

Christmas Time is in the Airwaves: Coming in at #49 on Radio Songs, AIWFCIY secures its earliest entry on that chart, ever (as far as my records show)! Last year it secured a #38 entry during the following week.

20:20 hearing: AIWFCIY debuts at #20 on Streaming Songs, and #20 on On Demand Streaming. This is the highest that AIWFCIY has landed on Streaming Songs this early in the year; last year it was #22 during the same week.

Still deluxe: Aside from 2019's release of the Deluxe edition of Merry Christmas, which led to a very high and early seasonal debut for the album, Merry Christmas has enjoyed its highest charting position for this time of the year since 1994. At #39 on the Billboard 200, it bests its #50 position from 2018 in the same week, and is only a touch behind the #36 spot from 2019.

A perfect score: Merry Christmas will definitely log 8 weeks on the Billboard 200 this year... but if it manages to chart for a 9th week, which is very likely, it will match its 2019 total, and more importantly become Mariah's 3rd album to amass 100 weeks on the Billboard 200. We'll find out in 6 weeks' time!

additionally, with an estimated 55,000 global consumption sales, the album is already on the verge to surpass The Rarities. It will only get better as weeks are progressing. <3 I added 17,000 from the USA and 3k from all other international markets.

I'm not counting the JB version, which is certified Gold in US or the MB version which was certified Silver in UK!
I guess i didn't forgot any certification. Correct me if i'm wrong on something.

It's a shame that we don't have a certification in countries in France
I hope this year we have new ones this year.

We are also missing South Korea, China, Philippines and many asian countries, where Mariah is huge!

                                      • 3xGold in Germany in the 1990s was 250,000 for each Gold award = 750,000. The song is awarded under the 1990s thresholds bc it was released back then. (otherwise it would be diamond).

2xP is the next stop for the song... which it has probably already reached... since it was gigantic during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, with the ultimate #1 peak last year.

2xP is the next stop for the song... which it has probably already reached... since it was gigantic during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, with the ultimate #1 peak last year.
So in Germany certifications are awarded under the threshold at the time of the release?

additionally, with an estimated 55,000 global consumption sales, the album is already on the verge to surpass The Rarities. It will only get better as weeks are progressing. <3 I added 17,000 from the USA and 3k from all other international markets.
