RATCT is doing better on Spotify, but it's usually like this every year, so I wouldn't worry too much

Yes, as long as AIWFCIY stays ahead on AM (which is bigger in the US) we will be fine

I would think so... especially now that the remix and the original are merged.

I would say SCICTT would be due for an upgrade in Australia too - it does well year on year and was certified a while ago.

It would also be due for a cert in The Netherlands I would imagine too as it tends to chart there year after year, but strangely I don't think any of her singles are certified in The Netherlands as far as I can tell.

This is from stevyy last year, for the day after Thanksgiving (hence the different dates, but should correspond to the day):

C (BPCH) is a standout amongst them after AIW.
Oh, I see what you mean by 5 now! I meant certified in more than 1 country in the other thread.

Without You was certified in The Netherlands in 1994, the only Mariah single with a certification there. Merry Christmas, CBPCH and AIWFCIY are due for a new plaque there. I wonder if its a label issue, since her last certification there was Rainbow, back in 2000. And the NL has been one of her most loyal markets in Europe.

BTW, this has to be the year Merry Christmas outpeaks that dreadful original run of #32 in the UK!!!

                              • Both "AIWFCIY" (#13) and "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" (#25) are among the greatest gainers and rank in the top 25 most Shazamed tracks this week in the UK.

I bet Mariah recognized the pattern of her most popular holiday bops ("AIWFCIY", "C(BPCH)", "SCICT") and blessed the world, finally, with her version of "Sleigh Ride" as a result.

"Silent Night", "Joy To The World" and "Miss You Most" are going to be the next tracks from Merry Christmas to be certified gold whenever another batch of certifications happens in the USA.

Anyways, Mariah is officially charting across all the Youtube charts for the week ending November 24, 2022:
Youtube Chart Rank (TW) Rank (LW) Change Weeks on Chart Streams
Music Video USA All I Want for Christmas Is You (Make My Wish Come True Edition) 8. 19. +49.7% 21 1.98M
Music Video Global All I Want for Christmas Is You (Make My Wish Come True Edition) 35. 54. +38.2% 17 7.69M
Top Song USA All I Want for Christmas Is You 6. 9. +50.3% 52 5M
Top Song Global All I Want for Christmas Is You 18. 38. +43% 43 18.4M
                                Top Artist USA Mariah Carey 28. 47. +27.4% 157 12.4M
                                Top Artist Global Mariah Carey 80. -- -- 127 43M
So between Youtube USA + HDD audio, "AIWFCIY" should be at ~20 million streams for the upcoming Billboard Hot 100 chart, comfortably in the top 10 (possibly top 5), well ahead of Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" which has 14,275,498 combined audio/video streams. Mariah's leading margin remains robust.

Mariah is currently the only female artist charting on Apple Music at #6 with "AIWFCIY". Her closest female competition there is Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero" at #12.

Mariah is currently #1 at Amazon Prime Music with "AIWFCIY" with Brenda Lee's "RATC" at #2. Mariah has 2 other versions of "AIWFCIY" charting in the top 300, as well as "Hark! The Herald Angel"

The past 2 chart weeks from Hits Daily Double the total was 35,663 for the USA (without including video streams).

I think this is a challenge due to label politicking and likely not going to be universal across different countries due to different rules.

AIW leapt by almost 1m more this week one year back.

                                            Not sure.

In the US at least, If it's a spotify thing though, and the RIAA counts all streams attributed to a song, then surely the RIAA would combine the streams (it would have to as one or the other wouldn't get any streams from spotify).

I find the combination of the two to be quite problematic, as Billboard doesnt see them as the same and I am sure others wont either.

They should have instead taken the AIWFCIY EF approach and simply made it unavailable.

The estimate only includes the chartruns as listed. Her new annual peak of #18 on the BB200 will be reflected when it is officially released. So, another 30k for next week, the album will most likely hit 100k by the end of next week and from then on out, it may just pull 100k per week. Last year, the album sold 500,000 units globally in relation to the chartruns that we got. Maybe 550k if we'd add wherever the album did not chart, but was consumed.

It's therefore the 2nd best consumed Christmas album globally, after Michael Bublé's album which does around 700k annually these days.

There are still label issues to sort through. This is one reason why we dont really have much for MC30 for the Universal eras. I am also not sure which masters she owns - we know it's not all of them. Even owning the masters doesnt mean the labels wont have to be involved to sort through the sales/streams data and then share that with MC's team and RIAA.

The combined streaming total appears to be for Spotify only - not across all digital platforms - which is why I do not think this is something that everyone will take forward.

If we consider that the Official Charts needed to be notified in order to credit MC on Big Energy remix, then we could see just how much isnt universal across the board. Different case, but perhaps shows the level of work required.

I personally hope they arent combined. The remix will definitely be certified at some point and so will the original. That would give her two plaques instead of one.
