Billboard didnt release Rockin stats this week so we cant know but 2 chart weeks prior, AIW's streaming lead was just around 1.7m. A time that she was still leading in Spotify the entire week. Now that Brenda is ahead for sure the gap is now closer.

This is exactly what is confusing about everything. Brenda is distant in Youtube and Apple music. Maybe Amazon is very close and Pandora is very good for RATCT. The breakdown of the song is needed as spotify alone shouldnt be enough to claim the number 1 spot from Mariah

Something about streaming being weighted down... which would give more weight to sales and radio.

If so, AIWFCIY will have that advantage over RATCT anyway, as AIW's been higher on airplay and sales.

However... for some reason RATCT seems to be close this year on the other platforms. It's surprising cause in my personal opinion I can't understand how that song is so popular compared to so many others. It's kinda meh.

Mariah is the only artist who actively promotes her Christmas music. No one else really does anything much at all. Mariah has really turned it into an empire.

Are you saying since Brenda isn't trying to promote her song every year that she shouldn't be able to reach number one, that it is without effort? What kind of statement is this? Its an all time classic Christmas song that people love, that they grew up on. I'm a huge Mariah fan, but this kind of thinking is pretty whack. If the charts go to Brenda over Mariah, then so be it. It's not the end of the world.

Rockin’ does have 30+ years on Xmas + boomers/older demo slowly adapting to streaming because these gains didn’t just happen overnight - these were gradual increases that happened over time starting in the mid to late 10s…
