So... ? In which way can it affect Kelly's sales? (just asking, I don't know how to ask my question without sounding aggressive )

I hope this is this year's runaway Christmas success! Michael Buble had 2011, Rod Stewart 2012, Kelly can have 2013, as much as I like Mary J. Blige.

Or, even better, both have great success! In all earnesty, though, I hope for Gold, though Platinum is the real goal.

Kelly, I think, will get the bigger sales. I don't see how Mary J. could compare lol I like Mary's music (loved it in the '90s but that's another story since I'm kinda over some '90s material) but come on lol I think Kelly would do extremely well.

The best-selling Christmas albums in the past two years (Michael Buble and Rod Stewart) have been produced by David Foster, who will also produce Mary J's Christmas album. Foster has an intense grasp on the album-buying demo.

Although, I have to say, Buble and Stewart's core demo is the AC audience, which happens to be also one of Kelly's core demos ("Catch My Breath" may end up being the number 1 AC song of 2013 as it still hasn't left the AC top 10 in its 302nd day on the chart). Mary J isn't doing well on AC as far as I know.

I have noticed lately that Christmas albums by pop artists do not sell as much as country/AC/soul artists do (e.g. Justin Bieber vs Michael Buble), but I think Kelly will do great because she has the Hot AC/AC/Country block to back her up.

                          #42,778 Now Christmas -- Various artists [Pre-order]

Barbra Streisand, Martina McBride, Neil Diamond, Andy Williams, Alabama, Johnny Cash, and Gladys Knight are all releasing ''The Classic Christmas Album'' catalog sets on the same day. All of them are going to steal the thunder from Barbra, although I think she has the chops to go head to head with Kelly. But right now, things are lookin' good for Kelly.

I really want to hear Ave Maria, but can't see that song on tracklist. Anyway, this album consists of 5 original songs and lots of holiday classics.

Not much Christmas traditional carols.. but it's okay... I suppose the Big Band Christmas standards/classics like "Run Run Rudolph"and "White Christmas" will help provide the Christmas spirit I need this season. I will definitely buy this!

Such a shame "Ave Maria" wasn't included... :( I hope it's on a deluxe or an iTunes bonus track.

A BIG SURPRISE that Imogen Heap's "Just for Now" is included, though. I love that song, I can now imagine Kelly's slaying vocals in it. Also very excited for "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"" (aka. Kelly's version of Xtina's The Christmas Song).

I think Kelly will easily outsell Mary J. Blige. The fact that there is a Barbra Streisand collaboration on Mary's album means that she needs that demographic to sell because R&B artists barely have successful Christmas albums as compared to that of those in the adult contemporary genre, which have surefire Christmas albums.

What's this all about btw? are these re-packaged old albums or are they new albums with older hits ? will they have the same barcode as the older releases or are they considered brand-new albums? are all of these under Columbia or is it another label? sorry for all the questions

All of them are going to steal the thunder from Barbra, although I think she has the chops to go head to head with Kelly. But right now, things are lookin' good for Kelly.
What's this all about btw? are these re-packaged old albums or are they new albums with older hits ? will they have the same barcode as the older releases or are they considered brand-new albums? are all of these under Columbia or is it another label? sorry for all the questions
They're all compilations of tracks recorded for different releases per artist, Mostly old hits from the Legacy Recordings catalog. That's why it'll be released under Legacy instead of Columbia/RCA/Epic.

I'm super stoked for Kelly. Of all the albums being released, Wrapped in Red will be the only one to have a simultaneous worldwide release in its debut week. Other albums like Mary J.'s and Leona's won't even be released internationally until December.

There's a big drop from Buble to Stewart though.

^ I doubt that has anything to do with the producer though, but rather with the name of the artist. Buble is (or, currently rather, was) one of the best-sellers of the past few years while Steward, although a legend, hasn't been selling as much. Of course Buble's Christmas album would sell more.
