True - he used to get decent reviews in Kerrang! His reputation irredeemably tarnished now....

A new entry from Def Leppard with the album that took them to mega-stardom level in the US. On the other hand, 'Kilroy Was Here' by Styx was their last big album in the US.

I guess the album would have been called 'Slade Alive 3' had the album 'Slade Alive 2' not been released during the band's wilderness years and flopped!

I remember seeing them at The Brighton Centre around this time and they put on a predictably good show - despite an infuriating technical fault that meant the venue's house lights couldn't be turned off throughout the whole gig!

A glowing review by Kerrang but the band don't seem to have lasted very long with only one further release in 1983. I've just watched a video of them on YouTube. A bit generic but not too bad.

Never heard of them either but Kerrang! gave the album (EP really) a thumbs up review....

"It makes a pleasant change to hear a new US band that doesn't rely on thrash to grab your ears. Buxx derive their sound from the sadly missed Angel...thus they reach the ears as a Hard Rockin' easy listen if that's not a contradiction in terms. All the traditional class US ingredients are present, a close attention to vocal harmony, a lead vocal high in the mix and a guitar which rocks out....Healthy, too, to see a US band managing to put out such quality product with limited resources and without the aid of the conglomerates. Let's give 'em our support! "
