Oh it seems i posted the Chart Show chart a week early looking at Skid Row who were brand new at 19 UK that week of the 15th cover date (and the actual top selling metal single). Of course the TV broadcast on the 8th corresponds to the chart broadcast that Sunday, the 9th.

But it still means Lawnmower Death charted at least 2 weeks late on both charts.

I see the band Catherine Wheel in the top 100 with their second single (an EP featuring an early version of I Want To Touch You). They should be on the rock charts with that. They were a borderline alt rock / shoegaze band. I think they're included later, like the Manics.
Their frontman Rob Dickinson is Bruce's cousin.

I'd forgotten about part of the top 200 being included in adverts in Music Week. I'd started buying Music Week every week when Record Mirror closed and can now remember the advert you've linked to.

Some do have some issues of it. All I have are images from the adverts in Music Week. Actually this does make for some interest in this post. The answer is 139 (seemingly joint 139) on the chart they date as week ending 1 June.

I think only two prints where added in Music Week of the charts to try and get you to subscribe. It was eye watering in 1991 - 500 for the year I think. Roughly 1200 today.

i don’t have anything other than what’s here sadly.

no-one seems to have positions 76-100 for this period. They are in the Gallup chart reports which the BPI have and they were also published in the original (Music Week owned) ChartsPlus publication at the time but no-one seems to have copies of the publication.

do you know if it made the unpublished UK top 100?

Just noticed Scorpions are missing from Chart Show top ten - that's the first release of Wind Of Change when it only peaked at 53 in UK.

Review of the Atom Seed single from the June 1 issue of Kerrang!

"It jerks into life like Jane Addiction's 'Been Caught Stealing' but Rebel's wiry white-funk metal is closest to the crunch and yelp of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The Atom Seed's major label debut single is vital and anthemic, a real shit-kicker. They don't sound so English these days though."

Elsewhere in the same issue there's a competition to win one of three "mega exclusive paint-by-numbers Atom Seed shirts for you to decorate at your leisure!"

i wouldn't say nobody likes him (EDIT: oh, yes - the reviews weren't great at the time)

he's cool again after The Lonely Island

How Can We Be Lovers? is a decent pop rock song, as is Time, Love & Tenderness.

Even though The Isleys won the case they still don't get a writing credit.

Queen included! (rather low) So Kerrang! is finally in line with UK chart for releases.

So here's the Chart Show Rock Chart for the previous week/day - 18th May

So as the charts are different it can be concluded that they were no longer using MRIB for their charts by this point and had compiled them using their own people.
Note Throbs (actually called The Throbs) having a similar high placing but the week before Kerrang!. What a jump! Mr Big as well. MRIB would have had a different time period for collation so only half the first week sales of a new release would be counted.

    EDIT: Bolton off Kerrang! chart

Sepultura! The chart might actually resemble The Chart Show one from now on. Let's see...

next one available is for 18th May (so 25th May for Kerrang!)

we've got Queen and Manic Street Preachers coming up for UK chart 25th May . At least 1 of those should chart. I think it took a few releases before Manics were included so they might not be yet.
