It reached 8x platinum back in 2013 and I'm sure it's eligible for another gold disc (=17x gold) by now. Why it's not higher on the list though? It was a big hit in Germany, but on a global scale, Germany was not even close to its biggest market. It spent 8 weeks at No. 1. There are markets where it spent more than 20 or even 30 weeks at No. 1. It also spent 'only' 148 weeks on the chart, while charting for more than 200 weeks in many others.

The Kellys had a comeback a few years ago and their reunion album got 5x gold, which is a great success, and I'm sure it revived some interest in their catalogue. Not to forget that it's quite easy to reach gold after 25 years, even with the old requirements of 250k copies shipped, as that means roughly 200 copies per week since, which is what most notable catalogue albums should be able to.
Regarding Genesis: The album could've been a sign of that time back then, just like Ace of Base or something.

On the other hand, Genesis' and Kelly Family's albums got certified for the last time back in the 90s, so they may be up for a recertification (and an additional gold disc in 25 years is not too hard to reach) as well.
I don't think that the Genesis album would be up for a recertification. It was huge at the time it was released but once it dropped out of the charts the interest had gone. There was no revival, reunion, re-release or anything similar which could make it become a catalog seller. The sales of Kelly Family album, on the other hand, still remain a mystery. In the 90s, it was reported everywhere that it had sold more than 3 million copies and had become Germany's biggest-selling album of all time (at the time). However, it was never certified for sales of 3 mio, so it is either undercertified or the news were fake at the time.

Thanks for the info. I think that 'ABBA Gold' would be eligible for a new certification as well, as its last certification (5x platinum) was back in 2008 and it has spent around 160 weeks on the German Albums Top 100 since then (plus many more weeks just bubbling under positon 100).

'Madonna' is at No. 1 on the German Singles Chart .

No. 2 is a Shanty song. Sounds like a random choice, but then again, the most successful German band of the last decade sings Shanty, so it kind of makes sense ;) .

@xrafaelx: It should be eligible for gold by now.

"Blinding Lights" in its 63rd week back in the Top 10 and "Ohne Dich" still at number 1. For me it's hard to say something positive about the charts.

That makes sense, thanks! I know that another user once asked 'Has there has been a rule change or why are there so many new releases?' and I thought like 'I get the impression, but... it's really just been (another) busy sales week .'.

I don't know most of those quick No. 1 rap singles, but at least, I heard some of the artists' names. Who is 'KASIMIR1441 x badmómzjay' though and why is that song at No. 1 for 3 weeks already?

I guess that is because of the revenue rule. New released albums often come with expensive boxes or as an expensive vinyl version. I guess both are most of the time bought by fans soon after release and that generates a lot of revenue. Plus new releases are probably also more expensive in general, at least compared to catalog albums. In other album charts, every box of vinyl sale would just count as one sale.
